The Mystery of P: A World in Peril

I came up with this idea last night at like 11 and finally wrote it down today so i got the idea out. So this is very rough, but i would love feedback on if you think its an interesting idea and if i should continue!

Prologue

Here we sit in this palace, in an unknown place to humans. Humans have thought of Heaven, Hell, Limbo, but never this place. I rule over all who live here, and my word is final. My job is to send help, and to keep balance with the humans and their emotions. I am Librius, and too many humans suffer. There is a palace for each Country, and I look over America. My job is to keep Americans balanced with their emotions, or at least try. Every ruler of their country is responsible for all that happens. We have yearly meetings to try and help the rulers who struggle, but in the end it is their job to fulfill. It is sad though, there is only one ruler for every country, and we never get replaced because we are immortal.

If one country thrives there is bound to be struggle in another country. There is only one personification of emotions. Only one Happy, one Sad, one Pain, one Truth and so on. The yearly meeting was a week ago, and we discussed whether or not to create more than one personification, and it has been passed. Now each country has its own Truth, Happy, Sad, Pain, Fear and so on. Balance should be restored to all countries now…

 We sit back for the first month of the year to let humans get on with their lives without our help. Once the rulers of each country figure out where there is imbalance, we send down the emotions to try and balance the human out. One risk we discussed was a rebellion of the emotions. There is a personification for every possible emotion, and one for each country leaves the rulers weak in numbers, but we thought the benefits outweighed the risks.
