I sat at the head of the table as the personifications trickled into their seats. For this story we will focus on one family in a small town, that way it doesn’t get too confusing. Once everyone was seated I started to talk.

"Tomorrow is the first day of February and you all know that that means. Time to go to work. I have observed the country and there is one family that I want Trust and Honesty to go to immediately. Pain and Chaos you have a job in another state. Esteem you might want to tag along with Trust and Honesty, I think this kid needs it. Anyways, if I have not mentioned you, your job is in your mailbox outside your door. I expect that you all fulfill your jobs. When they are done you will check back in the mailing room and check off the job you fulfilled and find your next job. The first month has been already planned for all of you so be on your feet and ready to go to your locations. I expect nothing but perfection." I said as I waved my hand in dismissal.

Honesty and I went into our room. We share a room because we are considered brothers, since our emotions are closely related. I am Trust and I have blue eyes golden hair that reflects my importance to people. I take time to get to know my friends, but once they know me I am valuable. Honesty also has golden hair but have brown eyes, it’s the only way to tell us apart since we look the same. Honesty was reading our job. He smirked. I wondered what was funny.

"We get to go to a small town and we stay with a family of four. The parents are married, and the kids are in high school. The elder kid who is a son is struggling to let people in. Hey, that’s where you come in, and I get to help the people surrounding him. I'll get people to be honest, you will get him to trust them and then we can watch for a while and see if it improves, if not we will step in again until the job is done. Sounds quite simple. A nice quick job to start of the year. Isn't that great?" Honesty asked.

"Yeah, a nice quick job, no attachments…" I said.

"I know it's hard for you to trust people, but remember your job is to make other trust easier. Trust, you do great things for people, we all do. We keep balance. We are here to make the humans balanced so they can have great lives. We have a hard job. Especially since there is only one of us for each country when the country is filled with millions and billions of people."

"Yes, I understand. I just think that we only get one month off of the year, and we work so hard."

"I know you remember the people you help. Just think about where they are now. It's because of us and the others."

"You're right. I am happy that they are living good lives now." I said as I heard a knock on the door.

"Hey you two. So you read over the job description right?" Esteem asked.

"Yeah, what do you think of it?" I asked.

"I think it will be alright. My job is to give that kid some confidence in himself. By the description he needs some. Anyways, I guess I will see you tomorrow." Esteem said before leaving.

"Bye!" Honesty called from behind me. I shut the door.

"What's on your mind?" Honesty asked.

"I have heard some things, because you know that the personifications as well as everyone else trusts me with ease, that there has been small talk of rebellion. It was Chaos's idea, always trying to stir things up though, but Logic and Reason always triumph over him." I said.

"Just don't listen to that crap Trust. Have you seen Strength or Weakness around lately?" Honesty asked.

"I was talking to Weakness the other day, but he just has this negative effect so I try to stay away from him. I prefer talking to Strength but I haven’t seen him. Why?"

"I just wanted to talk to him and see if he heard what Chaos has been talking about, because Chaos could have used Strength or even his brother Courage to talk big, you know? But it doesn’t matter. We should rest up though, work starts tomorrow." Honesty said as he was lying down.

"Right, well, goodnight brother." I said before turning the lights off.

"Goodnight." Honesty said, and we both drifted to sleep.

A loud sound woke us up. I sat up wishing I could just stay and rest, but knew I had an obligation to help others. I really do like helping others but sometimes I want time to myself…maybe I've been hanging out with Ego too much I'm starting to think of myself instead of others. Honesty threw my clothes at me and I got ready. He gave me a smile and we met up with Esteem and stood on the transporting disc.
