Don't Keep Me Waiting

Chapter ~13~

I opened my eyes and I recognized the room I was in. It was Nate’s room. I turned over and lying next to me was Nate. He was asleep. I snuggled into his chest and it felt like home being next to him. Nate moved and he made a little noise. “Kitten….are you awake?” he asked groggily.

“Yes” I said in a small voice. His arms wrapped around me.

I felt his head on top of mine. “I missed you” he whispered. I smiled and snuggled closer into his chest.

“I’m awake.”

Nate and I laid there for a while, and those peaceful moments were better than the dream I had. Because this was the real Nate holding me. I listened to the steady beat of his heart and found that mine was beating exactly in time with his.

When Nate could bear to let me out of his arms he told me what happened. Before the guards could shoot at Nate he was saved. Cameron being the best beta in the world told the wolves council what was happening and they sent special wolves out to back up Nate. These wolves were basically really tough wolves. They are almost like spies except they do things more up front. They found us just in time. They set off a small explosion on the side of the house. I got hit with a chunk of the wall. In the chaos of the explosion they took down Mark and his followers. They found out that Mark is a vampire. He is very insane. He had escaped from a vampire prison. He’s going to go to a trial where vampires will decide what to do with him. They will most likely kill him since they don’t want a war with the wolves. Relations between the wolves and vampires are shaky and the wolves will surely be pissed a vampire caused all of this trouble. But I’m sure Mark will get what he deserves.

So a month after the whole ordeal things have gone back to normal. Well a few things have changed and I now live with Nate and the pack. I have to say it is very nice to be alpha female. I love everyone in the pack but no one more than Nate. I looked over at him and studied him. As we laid in our bed I took in every one of his features and loved them all.

“Kitten you know I hate it when you stare at me when I’m sleeping.”

I giggled and cuddled closer to my wolf. “It’s a good thing you’re not asleep then.”

Nate let out a breath and his gray eyes opened. They were calm and a little tired. “What’s wrong kitten?”

“Nothing. I was just thinking.” We were silent.

“About” he prompted.

“Just us.” We were silent again. “I was thinking about our relationship.” Nate closed his eyes and put an arm over me.

“Were you thinking of taking it to the next level?”

I looked at him quizzical. “What would that be?”

“You bearing me a child.” He said it so matter-of-factly, like having a child was nothing.

“No I wasn’t thinking about that. Aren’t we a bit young to have children?” We were silent again and I was suddenly curious. “Do you want to have a child?”

“With you.” Though the thought of having a child so soon scared me but the love from his words made me blush.

“I suppose we could have a child.” Nate smiled and he rolled on top of me. “I didn’t mean right now.” Nate sighed and rolled off of me. “In time we’ll have a baby, and you can smother it like you do me.” Nate snorted.

“I don’t smother you. I care for you. Without me there would be no one to put up with your smart mouth and trouble making ways.”

I gave him a peck on the cheek. I know I cause him trouble. Though we were together and I loved him with all of my heart, I couldn’t stop who I was. I got him in trouble any time I could. I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t give him a hard time. “Tell you what,” I hopped up from bed and went to the door. I looked back and Nate had sat up and he looked at me curious. “If you can get me to admit you were right about something. We’ll make a baby.”

Nate looked confused for just a moment and then he had a confident smirk on his face. “This sounds like it is going to be a fun week.”

I smirked back at him. I kicked the door open and leaned in the door way. “Don’t keep me waiting” I purred.
