Its been hectic all this morning. My shift started at 4:00am, and I've been training Liam the rookie for a couple of days now. I began his training by making him do all my paperwork , running some errands for me and having him make my coffee. So I decided in rewarding him today by taking him out to show him a day as an officer, seeing what he cant and can not handel. Long story short, he has alot of work to do.
"Wow its barley eight and I'm already beat" Liam admits chuckling

"Come on man im starving, it won't take us less than five minutes"
I sigh "Liam anything can happen in five minutes. What if we get a call but we're too busy waiting in line while some punk is able to get away and hide from us in those five minutes."

"So we'll just go to the drive thru. 'If' we do get a call we will still be in the car and we can quickly drive off!" he says proudly

"Right, sorry... Uh how about McDonalds? There's not alot of people at the drive thru"
"Ok then" I state turning to its location.
We're entering McDonalds parking lot when I get a message on my phone. I grab it from the dashboard taking a quick look to the front to make sure that there's no one in my way so I can keep on driving.
Mother: Hi sweetheart just reminding you about the family dinner next weekend. Please no more excuses of you not being able to come. Mother misses you and your father has been asking for you also. Next friday, 6:00pm sharp. See you soon. LOL

"Officers near first and Magdalena Street shootings have been reported. We need all officers there on stand by"
I grab the radio and speak into it
"This is Officer Wess and Officer Penn. Copy that"
I look at Liam "I guess you'll have to wait for breakfast Penn"
"Damn I really wanted a bacon and egg croissant. We're still coming back though right?"
