Ned’s POV:

“I’m sorry Ned, but you have leukaemia.” The doctor slowly said.

My heart sank and tears were about to fall out of my eyes.

“We will schedule you a surgery or chemotherapy. We have to know if you’re willing to do the surgery or not. If you don’t want to do it, you might have a 50/50 chance of living.”

I took a deep breath. “I’ll think about it.”

“You have to tell us your decision sooner or later; otherwise it might be too late.” The doctor replied.

I headed out the door and went home. I broke the news to my parents and told them I didn’t want anyone, even Brie, to know about my sickness. I don’t want to bring pain into her.

Brie’s POV:

As soon as I entered the classroom, I saw a bunch of colorful balloons cornering the place. I was really early to class that day so I was the first one to arrive in class. I went over to my desk and saw a bouquet of flowers with a note written on it.

I’m sorry I was a jerk last night. I’ll make it up to you. I love you and you know that, right? :*

P.S. Turn the graphing board around and look what’s written on it.

I turned the graphing board around and saw “Happy anniversary, baby!” written on it with a dozen of hearts around it.

Tears were about to fall in my eyes when suddenly someone covered my eyes from behind.

“Ned.” I said.

“Hey baby. Do you like my surprise? I got here to school as early as I can to set all this up.” He told me.

I was speechless. I leaned to his chest and cried.

“No one has ever done like this to me.” I said.

He hugged me and kissed my head.

“I’ve never done something like this to anyone before. I love you, Brie and I’ll do anything for you.” He answered.

“I love you too.” I looked up to him and he leaned closer to kiss me.

He held my hand. “Come, let’s over to McDonalds and eat. I bet my baby’s hungry.”

I smiled and held his hand tighter. I never want to let his hand go.

“Oh, and later after your class, we will go to the park, have a short picnic and then we’ll watch Beastly together at eat popcorn at home.” He said. “Is that okay or too much?

“What do you mean? I’d spend my entire life with you.” I told him.

“Good. You know that I love you, right?” He said.

I kissed him on his cheeks. “Of course.”

Ned, my forever and my eternity.

Ned’s POV:

Because I know I might have only a few weeks to live, I decided to do everything I can to make her happy, even if it means spending my money. I just wanted to make sure she was happy and that she knows I’ll never leave her side forever, even if it means someday I will be gone.

Little did she know that was the last day she will ever see me.
