Desolation

The snow falls upon the barren grounds.
Where I stood so still, but without a sound.
Looking up at the sky as it patters down and falls upon my heart.

That barren ground so dimly lit, by the bright light that barely breaks through the dark.
The light that expands and brightens my heart.
Bringing flowers and happiness to that place,
and I smiled up as it basked upon my face.

The grounds will never be the same again, once that light falls behind the veil
leaving me as I fall to my knees, the brightness gone, the tears upon my cheeks.
I still remember that bright happy place, even though its left this space.
Leaving me lying on these barren grounds.

Broken in pieces as the memories fall all around.
