A Vampire's Pain (Book 2)

How I met a vampire

 I sat at my desk working on my paper in class. I kept getting distracted by Jasper playing video games in the living room. Sometimes it wasn't hard at all for him to be normal. I was still struggling with that. I been a vampire for little over a year and I still didn't have the whole normal thing worked. Things in my life haven't been normal since I had found out Darren was a vampire. But...then again. Luke was vampire before Darren was in my life. Does this mean my life was meant to go in this direction? No matter who I had choose to be with it, it meant my life was going to end up about the same. Both of them wanted to get married, but only one of them wanted my power for his own will. I wonder how my life had been diffrent if I had't have said yes to the frist date.

 The rain tapped lightly on the window. We were indoors for gym class today. I wasn't a fan of indoor swimming.  Jamie and Jasper seem to be having all the fun.  I sat on the side watching. I wasn't looking till it was too late. Water landed on me, soaking my hair and some of my close. I hated the water, I couldn't even swim. I lookef like a drowned rat with red hair.

"I am so sorry." I looked at the guy with dark hair.

"My cloths are all wet." I could have slept him in the face.

"I am really really sorry. Here you can have my towl." I took the towel and dried my hair.

"Woah what happened to you?" Jasper asked me.

"This jerk splashed me with water." Jasper looked at him.

"See you met the new guy." I looked at him. Was this the guy everyone had been talking about?

"I can see I would be the jerk. I am really sorry about your cloths."

"Well, Raven this is Darren. Darren this is my good friend Raven."

"Oh the Raven you told me about. Nice to meet you." I made an angery face at him.

"I wish I could say the same" I gave him his towel and walked off from him.

 I was half down the hall way when he came running after me.

"Raven!" I turned and looked at me.

"What is it?" I could feel my hair starting to friz.

"Let me make it up to you. How about you go out on a date with me tonight." First he gets my cloths and hair wet. Now he wants a date.

"What if I say no?" I asked.

"Then I will keep asking till I get you to say yes to me." I rolled my eyes at him.

"Fine." A breath taking smile came across his face.

"I'll pick you up at six after school." That left me time to wash and blow dry my hair.

 I heard Darren's car pull up to my house. I let my dad answer the door as I took my time answering the door. My mom had already gave me her long winded speech while I was getting dressed. She said she didn't want things to go down the same path. Not like they did with Luke. I walked in the living room in time see my dad's angery face. I can see already he disapproverd of Darren. It was a good thing this going to happen one time only. I had the feeling if my dad ever saw him again near here, he wouldn kill Darren. I avoided my dad's eyes as we went out the door.

"Your father, he doesn't like me vary much does he?"

"Not really." My dad has never liked anyone I dated.

"Sounds like I am going to have to work really hard to change his mind." He sounded like he knew he was going to see my father again. I rolled my eyes and walked to the car.

"Where are we going?"

"You will see." He smiled at me as he opened the car door for me.

 I sat in the car quietly as he kept his eyes on the road. I couldn't think of where we could be going. He was driving like we were going out of town. Where could he  be going?

"You know if you didn't want to go on this date with me you didn't have to say yes." He said softly.

"Why  do you say that?" I asked him.

"Well I can see it your body lanuage. Your sitting with your arm folded and your not saying much. Is it me or something? I can turn around and take you back home if you like."

"I wanted to come. It's.....just been a while since I've been on a date. Sorry if I seem like I am being bitch." Darren turned off on a dirt road and stopped.

"It's cool. I just want to make sure you wanted to come. I wanted us to have a good time. I haven't been on a date in two years." Two years? 

"Why that long?" He didn't answer at first. He got out the car and came around to my door. He opened the door and reached his hand out for me.

"I was in a serious relationship for a long with someone. Things didn't work out. After awhile I wasn't what she wanted anymore." Darren pulled open a the trunk of the car. He handed me dark brown blanket.

"Why don't you find a nice place for us to sit." I took the blanket and walked in the trees. Where was I going to find some place for us to sit. All I could see were trees. After walking for ten mintues I heard the sound of rain falling down on water. I kept walking and came to a water fall. I stood looking at the clear water. It was beautiful. I see why he came out here. 

"I see you found the water fall." Darren sat the big cooler down and helped me the blanket. I sat down on the blanket.

"So what happened to the guy that made you stopped dating for awhile?" I didn't want to tell him but, because he told me about his past relationship I had to tell him.

"Things were great a first but then as we entered high school he changed. Suddenly he wanted "more" in the relationship and I wasn't ready for that. So he broke up with me." Darren looked at me. 

"What do you mean by more?" He asked. I gave him a look. "Oh. Does that mean you have before?" I blushed a little.

"No, not with anyone. I never met anyone that I wanted to share that part of myself with." Darren grinned. 

"I wish that I had been more like that about myself." He opened the cooler.

"Does that me your not a virgin 

"Yes it does." I should have know. He was good looking what girl wouldn't want to have sex with him. "I hope you like hot wings. Jasper kind of told me they were your favorite
