Chapter 8

I walk proudly back to the village to return the captured girls and claim the reward that's rightfully mine. And Sting's......Whatever. If it weren't for me back there, Sting would be Minotaur food right now. Hmph. Every few minutes I check behind me to make sure all the girls are following. The trip was full of dead silence, until one of the girls spoke up.

"Thank you for saving us back there." Her calm voice rings through my ears.

"No problem, I was just doing my job." I reply. Silence follows, and continues for the rest of the walk.

After what felt like forever, we reach the village. One of the guards guided the girls into their homes, and the other -the one I had a "friendly" conversation with earlier- came up to me and walked me to Chief Angela's place.

"(f/i)! I'm glad you made it back safe! Did the girls cause you any trouble? Are you hurt? If so, one of our doctors can help!" She buried me in questions.

"I'm fine, the girls didn't cause trouble, and you can call my (Y/N)." I answer all her questions.

"Okay, (Y/N)! Anyways, here is your reward!" Angela says, handing me the money.

"Oh, and we happened to have a spare celestial spirit key, would you like that too?"

"There's no need to give me something not listed on the paper, but if you truly don't need it, I'd be glad to take it." I reply. She hands me a silver key, and I take it with a "thank you". After a while of talking, Angela and I say our goodbyes and I start to head back to Fairy Tail.

As I open the guild doors, I am not greeted by a chair in the face, but instead with a smiling guild. "Welcome back, Y/N, I'm glad you're safe." Master smiles at me.

"You know what we should do??!!" A male voice speaks up. "PARTY!!!!"

"Oh, hey, Nasty. Long time no see." I smirk as Natsu gets mad.

"Knock it out you two." Erza says, and we both quiet down.

"That's a good idea, Natsu. Yeah, let's all have a party!" Master says excitedly.

After about an hour, the whole guild was dancing, drinking, and all that shit. I didn't feel the urge to dance, so I sat at the bar talking to Mira.

"Hi, Y/N! What can I get for you?" She says in her usual cheerful voice.

"Umm... I would like (f/d) please." I say, and Mira hands me a cup. I'm about to take a sip when Natsu sneaks up behind me.

"OI, Y/N!!" I jump

"What the fuck do you want, Nasty?" I ask, pissed that my sticky drink is now all over my clothes.

"I bet you I can drink more than you!"

"Is that a challenge?" I ask the dense boy.

"Whoever drinks more wins!!" he shouts.

"BRING IT ON!!" I shout and tell Mira to go bring us some booze.

"What do I get when I win?" I ask Natsu.

"When I win, I get to give you a dare." He grins. With that, Natsu and I started the drinking contest, with the guild members chanting the name of who they're betting to win.
