Tell Me That You Love Me

Prologue

Our story starts in a park with a single mother and her 6 year old daughter. Shelby and Rachel Berry.

Rachel, just like any 6 year old, is advenuring around the park like it's a jungle and filled with treasures to be found, with Shelby keeping an eye on her with a smile on her face.

As Rachel is running towards the climbing framed she ran into someone and both fell backwards. When the second person stands up we see that he is a boy around the same of Rachel.

"I'm sorry," the boy said as he helped her up.

Rachel smiled at the boy as he helped her up. "It's okay. I'm fine. I'm Rachel Berry."

"Finn Hudson. Nice to meet you." He said as he smiled back at Rachel.

"You too."

Just then Shelby and another woman run up to Rachel and Finn and started fussing them.

"Rachel sweetied, are you okay?" Shelby asked Rachel while searching for any cuts or bruises.

Rachel just giggled at her over protective mother and replied, "I'm fine, Mama."

"Finn honey, are you okay? Are you hurt? Is anything broken?" The other woman asked Finn, whilst checking him for any cuts or bruises just liek Shelby was checking Rachel.

Finn looked at Rachel, embarrased. "Mom, I'm fine Mom." Finn said to his mom, while trying to get out of her grasp.

Rachel eager to introduce Finn to her mother, she dragged Shelby over the Finn and the other woman. "Mama, meet my new friend Finn Hudson."

The woman with Finn looked up at Shelby and recognisation dawned in her eyes. "Shelby?"

Shelby looked at the other woman and recogniseation also dawned in her eyes, "Carol?"

Carol hugged Shelby, which Shelby gladly returned. When they both pulled back from the hug Carole asked, "How many years has it been?"

"I'd say a few," Shelby replied it chuckling.

Whlste their mom's were talking Finn and Rachel just looked at each other, both with confused expressions, and turned back to their moms.

Shelby and Carol were just staring at each other, until Shelby spoke up. "Well, you have changed."

"So have you."

Having been confused for long enough Rachel decided to get some answers from her mother. So she tugged on Shelby's dress until she looked down at Rachel and once she did Rachel asked her a question. "Mama, who's this?"

Shelby smiled at her daughter's curiousity, bent down so she was eye to eye with Rachel and replied, "That's mama's friend, Carol."

Rachel, walked up to Carol, with her famous Rachel Berry confidence and  smile, and said, "Hello, my name is Rachel Berry, pleasure to meet you."

"Hello Rachel, I'm Carole. You are jut too cute." Carol replied smiling down at Rachel, who blushed and replied with, "Thanks."

Finn, jealous that no one's giving him attention, cleared his throat, "I am still here you know."

"We know you are, Finny." Rachel repled and ran to give him a hug in which he gladly returned.

Carol smiled at the two and when they pulled back Carol said, "I know. Finn sweetie, I want you to meet Shelby, she's an old friend of mine."

"Old? I'll have you know I'm 31." Shelby said.

"Yeah, 7 years ago." Carol replied in a teasing matter.

"Very cheeky you're mom is Finn." Shelby teased back.

Finn and Rachel looked at each other and giggled at their mothers.

"Mama can we feed the ducks now?" Rachel asked.

"I love feeding the ducks. It's my favourite thing to do at the park." Fnn told Rachel.

"Me too. Race you to the pond?"

"Okay. Ready?"

"Set."

"Go!" Finn and Rachel said at the same time and then ran off towards the duck pond.

"Don't go too far!" Boh Shelby and Carol shouted after them.

"Well I don't know about you, but I don't think they can feed the ducks without bread, do you?" Shelby said, whilst lifting up a small bag of bread.

Chuckling, Carol replied, "I have to agree. I got Finn's bread, I think we better get going before the ducks attack them."

Shelby laughed, hugged Carol, pulled back and said, "How I have missed you."

"I've missed you too."

With that they started walking towards the duck pond after their children.

With Finn and Rachel

Rachel got to the pond first with Finn coming up right behind her.

"Who won? I won!" Rachel did a victory dance to prove her point.

Finn ran up behind her out of breath, "How do you run so fast?"

Rachel stopped her dance and shrugged at him and replied, "I don't know."

"Well, you are pretty fast."

"Thank you."

"For a girl." Finn added in a teasng tone.

"You're mean." Rachel replied.

Fnn just stuck his tongue out at her, in which Rachel just giggled at him.

"Hey wanna be friends?" Rachel asked.

"Best friends." Finn said, with a smile on his face. They then sealed that promise by linking their pinkies and hugging.

At that moment Shelby and Carol walked up, spooted the two and smiled at them.

"Well aren't you two just the cutest pair." Shelby said.

"You're right Shelby." Carol agreed.

"So then, who wants to feed the ducks?" Shelby asked as both mothers held up the bags of bread crumbs.

"We do!" Finn and Rachel replied, as they took the bags and started to feed the ducks as Shelby and Carol just observed them with smiles on there faces.

So that is how the two became best friends, seems easy huh? That's because it was, but what they don't realise is that this is going to become a happy memory very soon.
