It's for you

As the wind bristles through the leaves of a tree
The tree making the most beautiful array of sunlight
Only to begin to scream
As a woodman started to chop him down
Screaming as loud as he could but no one could hear the sound
Cutting through the top layer of flakey bark
Just for the sharp edge of the axe to dig deep enough
To make the tree bleed blood of maple syrup in its purest form
Around three more chops till he's down
The tree thinking of why this is happening
Yet it happens for human race
So we may survive and others may die
Trees getting cut open for us just for us
Around two more chops till he's down
Thinking about falling down to be chopped up again
Happy that it was him and not the younger trees
Wishing he could take all the pain so it won't happen to others
Around one more chop till he's down
As the sound of the last chop echoed through the forest
The tree is down no one there to prevent it
Just watching as his body is dragged away
A trail of his maple syrup blood leads to a truck to be driven away
This may have happened but his stump remanied there shined on by the sun
Rained on as well
A few days later the littlest green stem poked out
This is a beautiful miracle of nature
Yet, they all share the same fate to be killed for our lives
So we may survive and others may die
But how many more lives can be sacrificed before this miracle comes to an end
Not to many that's what I'm suggesting
