Kate sleeps the drive to the airport. we arrive thirty minutes later and I gently arouse her with the smell of cheap coffee. She opens her eyes slowly and looks at me with sad eyes. I know she heard the conversation between Uriah and I. It's written all over her face. The thing is what exactly did she hear.

With my coffee and ticket in one hand and my suitcase in the other, Kate and I race to the luggage checkout. They scan both us and the luggage which is surprisingly taking a long time.

The intercom above us states that the flight to Florida is taking off in thirty.

------------------------------------------------------

My phone chimes. I look down and see a new text from an unknown number.

Hey, Angel, I know we may never see each other again but in my heart... scratch that... I believe we will see each other again. I am going to school at Florida this year and I might actually see you. No, I'm not a stalker. I saw your ticket in your car... okay that sounded even worse. Sorry.

Look. I really need to tell you something. Because if you don't already know you're in serious danger. You and your friend. Just being around you will get her hurt. When you arrive please text me or call. I'd love to hear your voice. We seriously need to talk.

You also may think this is a load of bullshit bit please trust me on this, Cyrus. It will probably be the best thing you'll ever do.

-Uriah
P.S. save my number but delete this text.

I roll my eyes but obey as Uriah instructions. If he is really serious then I'll take the precaution about it, but even if he is a complete drama queen I might do what he says just because he's pretty.

I put my phone in my pocket and close my eyes. I don't fall asleep fast enough because before I know it, Kate is shaking my shoulder and unplugging my seatbelt from across me.

"Come on, we gotta go. I already got your luggage and we have a car waiting for us." Kate says quickly.

"Why are you talking so fast?" I ask rubbing my eyes.

"Cyrus. We didn't order a car..." Kate says trembling.

"Calm down. We'll just call a taxi instead. We don't need to take the car that was provided for us if you feel uncomfortable about it." I say yawning.

"You don't get it. I called your mom and asked her if she hired a car and she had no idea what I was talking about." Her voice was barely above a whisper.

I look at her as her face morphs into Uriah's. I flinch.

"Cyrus, you need to wake up." Uriah says.

"What do you mean? I am awake." I say confused.

"No. You're still asleep on the plane." Uriah shakes his head.

"What do you mean? Why do I have to 'wake up'?" I jut out my bottom lip.

"The plane is on fire. There was something wrong with the controls and the cockpit caught on fire. Angel, I need you to wake up. Please, love."

I shake my head and close my eyes tightly.

I lurch forward and instantly start coughing. Smoke fills the plane, stinging my eyes. Tears streak my face. I rub my face and soot comes off my face and onto my fingers. Ashes seem to be littering the flooring and everything it comes in contact with; including Kate.

I turn to look at her as a burning amber falls on her limp shoulder.

"Kate? Kate are you okay?" I shake her shoulder.

She doesn't answer. Blood trickles out of a wound gashing out of her head.

"Kate? Kate!" I shouted.

I grab her seatbelt and unlock it. I pull her out of the seat and struggle to lift her up.

Lay off the sweets next time I try to pick you up. Jeez.

I heave her up and stumble. I groan as a sharp stabbing pain hits me in my side. I look down and see a piece of shrapnel in my side.

Great. Just great.

I grit my teeth and limp my way to the gaping hole on the side of the plane, dragging Kate with me.

I collapse once Kate and I are far enough away from the crash.

*Three weeks later*
-Orlando, Florida-
•Florida Hospital Orlando•

"Is she okay?" Says a voice.

Everything sounds muffled as if I can't totally make out what they are saying.

"Yes... you.... see... her... awhile... hey! Stop...can't go in there."

The door flies open and I see sea green eyes, palish tan skin and an unshaven face... Uriah.

"You're awake..." Uriah gasps in the verge of crying.

He takes three large steps to cross the room over to me. Uriah bends down and cups my face.

"You're awake." He chokes. Tears slide down his face.

"Uriah, Kate? Is Kate..." I croak in a sudden panic.

"Shh... everything is fine. She's fine. She's in school right now. Where I should be but I decided to start when you do. Y'know, to keep an eye on ya."

I roll my eyes and smile. "You called it. In my dream, you were there in my dreams again."

"Was I?" Uriah raised a perfect eyebrow.

"Yes?" I blink. "I think so. Huh. Maybe you are always in my subconscious and you pop up when I'm in danger or when I need you." I joke.

Uriah cracks a smile and gets up from the floor to sit next to me on the bed.

"You get discharged tonight. So we'll start school two days from now. We've already missed a lot." Uriah looks at me and sighs. "Please don't get hurt again. I don't know what I'd do if something happened to you."

I smile and roll my eyes again, punching him in the arm. He smirks and gets up. He walks over to the door and stops.

"I'll see you later on tonight, Angel. Don't miss me too much." He says with a wink waking out of the door.

"Uriah..." I say as he pokes his head back in."How long have I been here?"

"About three weeks." He sighs and shuts the door leaving me alone once again.

Well that's the reason he seemed to be in so much pain and relief that I was awake. Huh. Interesting.
