After making sure that there's no single trace of tears on her face, she went towards the direction of the aroma and voice that she heard. Majeedah's tune from the kitchen made her smile a bit before she showed her face at the kitchen.
Majeedah turned when she heard the door knob turn and the door crack open, her lips immediately curve into a sweet smile on seeing her.
"Rahma,I thought you were asleep. Come, here's a seat" she said, gesturing towards the empty seat in front of the door.
"Yusuf will be back soon,he went to pray,we'll eat when he comes okay?"she added quickly before dashing off to the dining to set the table, all while she hummed her song to herself. This only made Rahma wonder further, how is Majeedah's life free of worries completely?and hers seem like her worries will never end, despite that Majeedah is way older.
Why can't she live just like before? Free of worries and stress. Just like a teenager that she is."Life isn't something i'll ever understand, I never will" she murmured to herself, with her head buried in her hands.
Just then, she heard the door from the living room open, and Majeedah call out for her, then she hurried to meet the couple. She sat silently in a chair beside Yusuf, Majeedah occupying the other end and they ate almost quietly. Until Majeedah broke the silence of course, she teased Yusuf and they joked about a few things. Rahma only stared blankly.
She made to pack the plates after her meal but they both stopped her and asked her to go and rest which she was grateful for. She loves being alone.
