Amelia

Lucy is a very delightful child. My mother said that I was exactly like her when I was young. I guess that's why we have such a great relationship. I tried to stay strong during the week and not tell Lucy about the guardianship drama. Finally I had no choice since my brother's lawyer has contacted me to let me know that Kate brother is expecting me on Friday morning at his office to talk about Lucy who was not required at the meeting.

After dinner on Thursday night. While Lucy and I did our nightly routine I asked her about William.

"Lucy do you know mummy has a brother?"

"Yes uncle William, I'm not supposed to talk about him because mom said it made my dad unhappy"

"How is he?" I ask curiously

"He is nice. Whenever I see him he always take me and mom to nice places and buy us nice things. He got me my doll house for my forth birthday." She informed

"I thought dad got you that"

"Nope"

"Would you like it if uncle William want you to go and stay with him." I asked curiously

"Why? You don't want me anymore." She said with a sad face. Holding back tears

I gave her a soothing hug and informed "Of course I do, but uncle William misses you too, and want you to spend time with him."

"Maybe for a holiday than but I still want to stay with you"

"Very well than. How about you go clean up and get ready for bed. I will come and read you a bed time story in a bit."

"Ok"

I finished cleaning up the kitchen and packing Lucy's bag for preschool tomorrow. My meeting with William is at ten in the morning so I need to be on time hopefully that will score me extra points with him and show him that I'm capable of looking after my niece if he has changed his mind.

I went to Lucy's bedroom where she was waiting with her favorite book I read it for her until she was sound asleep than headed for bed my self after a quick shower. I need all the energy I can master for tomorrow as it will be very important day.

The next morning after getting Lucy ready I gave her breakfast while I went to get ready.

I put on my suit which consist of a pants and a matching jacket. I stepped into my two inches comfortable heals than I gathered my long black hair in a bun. I grabbed a breakfast bar as I run out of time to have my normal breakfast than Lucy and I headed for her preschool.

I arrived at William's five minutes before ten. No thanks to the traffic. Instead of looking for a cheaper parking I decide to leave my car with the valet of the building. That's probably going to cost me but I would rather be on time than late. I did a last check of my appearance before I headed to the receptionist asking for William.

"Hello, I'm Amelia Parker. I have a meeting with Mr. William Benson."

"Yes he is expecting you please give me one moment I will call his assistant"

I moved to the side allowing other customers to the reception desk while I look around admiring the grandeur of the edifice. These is the first time I see something so extravagant. Mr Benson must be doing well for him self if he can afford staying in a place like this.

A red haired middle aged women started to walk toward me. My first impression were very elegant and sophisticated. She addresses me very warmly.

"Miss Parker. I'm Jane Jones. Mr. Benson's personal assistant. Please to meet you"
