William

Jane has informed me that the board meeting would be at one in the afternoon. I will be connected remotely.  One of my clients is threatening to cancel a big contract if I dont show my face any time soon. He didn't like my absence all this time.

I need to get back to New York. My plan to spend some time to Miami is no longer possible.

I am setting on my swivel chair thinking about what happened with Amelia. She was nothing like I expected. Or is she?

At that moment I had the urge to go through the rest of the file that Chad prepared for me. By the time I have finished reading I was in awe of her and all the sacrifices she made for her family. Do people like that still exist?

She was very nervous around me specially when I get closer. I must admit I like the effect I have on her. I know that feeling. She is attracted to me but does not have the skills to hide it. She need to be put on her place. We are no good for each other. With all the family history.

Jane has made a recommendation. She could come and help with Lucy in New York until I find a good nanny. I will suggest that to her tonight.  That could work for Lucy specially in her first few months in New York.

I leave my office heading for the bathroom to remove my facial hair with the help of Ian. It's time for old me to be back.

Amelia
M

y friend Lisa was nowhere to be find. She was not feeling well and left early. I made a note to call her later on tonight.

The working day is over.
I head to preschool to pick up Lucy. She was waiting for me with her little Dora bag and the biggest smile. So cute. I smiled back at her and gave her a big hug.

Can I imagine myself without her?

I don't think I can.

I have made a decision.  Whatever William offers I will accept it as long as it involved me being part of Lucy's life.

I greet Lucy as I approached "Hello pumpkin. Did you have a good day?"

"Hello auntie Amy. I had a good day thank you."

"Ready to go"

"Aha"

We walked to the car where I placed her securely in her seat, and went to the driver seat to start the short journey home.

"Can I go for a swim before we start diner auntie Amy I'm a little hot"

"Okay.. But we have to make it short we have a visitor tonight"

"Oh really. Who?"

"Uncle William"

"Really. Cool. I miss uncle William."

"I think he misses you too that's why he is coming to see you"

"Maybe we can make his favourite dinner. He always say that he likes chicken stir-fry with rice"

"Hold on!!! That's your favourite food"

"He likes it too I swear."

"Well. I am not sure he will be eating with us but we can do that anyway and if he doesn't eat more for us. Huh"

"Yeah" she announced excitedly.

"We are here go get ready for swimming"

"Okay"

The suburban area we lived in had big houses, yards, swimming pool, parks and malls.
Home was the house that my dad built my mum and later on John and I inherited. But it was refinanced by John and now we lost every thing. The bank is asking me to move out this weekend. I have organised everything a week ago. The movers will be starting to move everything to a storage facility tomorrow. Most of the staff is already packed sitting in the garage for removal only the furniture and the kitchen left.
