Wesley

After having that awkward talk with Naomi about Asher, she started getting ready. We didn't speak much; she blasted music and started singing and dancing along in between doing her makeup. I tried to completely boost her ego every time she would show me her progress and she was thriving off of it. I was on my phone the rest of the time texting one of my best friends, Carlos. He knew about the whole Asher situation.

Dude, she was with this guy for a long time. Why aren't you making this a big deal?

From: Wesley

Because I don't want to suffocate her. I trust her.

From: Carlos

I think he wants her back.

You're a dick you know that?

Carlos got me thinking. He was the realistic one of the two and was always blunt about things like this. I didn't even know if she was completely sure she didn't want him back. Knowing Naomi, she would have made a scene when she saw him here. Whether she wanted him here or not, it would have been easy to tell. But this time, I didn't know. She remained neutral, which was unusual coming from her. I guess my face expressed what I was thinking and she asked me what was up, with a face full of white powder.

"What's wrong, babe?" she asked.

"Nothing, Carlos is just a dick," I shrugged.

She giggled, "We already knew that. It's part of his...'charm'."

Naomi had returned to doing her makeup when there was a knock on the door. She yelled at them to come in and the door opened revealing Asher Forger. She looked at him through her mirror on her vanity and perked up a bit.

"What's up, Ash?" she asked.

"Jesse just wanted to know if you and your friend wanted some pizza. We ordered a pineapple pizza, just how you like it," he gleamed.

I scoffed softly under my breath. He was clearly trying to get on her good side again. Naomi noticed me and furrowed her eyebrows before she returned her gaze to Asher.

"Pizza would be great. Wesley, could you please go get some? I still have a lot of work to do," she smiled.

I nodded and went downstairs with Asher. He tried to make small talk. "So, you're Naomi's new boyfriend?"

"We don't have a title," I said. Before he got any other ideas, I cleared the air, "Yet."

"Really? Not a relationship kind of guy?" he questioned.

"Not really, but I like her. She's actually the one that doesn't want a title."

"That doesn't sound like her at all," he said.

I got some pizza on plates and tried to get out quicker than I was. "People change, man." Getting some drinks from the fridge, I thanked him and Jess for getting the pizza and made my way back to Naomi's room.

"Pizza delivery!" I hollered, kicking her door with my leg as I had no free hands.

Naomi opened the door halfway and peeked her head out, "What's the password?"

I narrowed my eyes in confusion and went with what I knew would work. I pecked her lips and she immediately let me in, helping me with the food.

"This looks so yummy," she drooled, digging into her food.

I chuckled and started eating, too. She looked at me and tilted her head slightly. "Are you okay, Wes? You know with the whole Asher being here thing."

"Of course I am," I lied. He wasn't giving me the best vibes, but he's only temporary so I didn't want to act too worried about it.

"You sure? I don't know you seemed a little uneasy when he was here."

"Nah, I'm fine," I kissed her cheek.

She smiled at me and ran her fingers through my hair. I checked my phone and noticed the time. "I should probably go get ready myself," I said, taking my last bite.

"Good, because I was just about to finish and I don't want you to see the final product before you pick me up."

"I'm sure you'll look gorgeous. You always do," I kissed her one last time before standing up and cleaning up my trash.

"Shut up, you're supposed to say that."

I winked at her and walked myself out. After stepping out of her room, I overheard sounds coming from Jesse's room. I could recognize his and Asher's voice having a quiet conversation.

"I don't know man, I guess I just never got over her. It hit me when she told me she moved on," Asher said.

"I told you it'd be a bad idea being here. She's happy now, I think you should let her go," Jesse responded.

"I've tried. You know how many girls I've gone through since we broke up? No one makes me laugh the way she did. We could talk endlessly and never get bored. I miss her and it kills me."

I didn't think I could hear anymore, so I left. Carlos was right. He still had feelings for her and I didn't expect anything else. She was incredible. That's the reason why I wanted to make her my girlfriend. What I didn't know is if Asher was going to act upon his feelings. If he did, I was sure I was not going to let Naomi go without a fight.
