Chapter 1,
Just A Place To Sleep

***

Wind blew through her air as she walked down the streets of London. Her eyes wondering around the tall buildings while she carefully listened to the sound of her boots scratching against the sidewalk.

She took a deep breath in as her eyes laid apon the door of her hopefully new home. She took a deep breath in, a smirk appeared across her face as she hoped across the street.

The woman knocked on the door with her eyes fixated on the crooked handle as her mind started to wonder to what she would say to whoever answered the door.

'My name is Nova, I come from Canada and I think I am perfect human being to live in one of your wonderful flats.
No, that won't do. Maybe I should fake and accent, maybe that'll make a better impression.'
Nova finished up her thoughts as soon as the door opened.

A small, older lady answer the door with a joyful smile plastered apon her face.

"Hello dear, you must be Miss Business." The old woman spoke with a soft voice and her hands folded together in grace.

"Indeed I am." Nova answered with a small bow, mimic the woman's British accent.

"Come in, come in. I'll make you a cuppa tea. Do you like biscuits?"
Nova obeyed and followed, telling the older lady that she would love some biscuits.

The old lady led Nova to a small table located inside her flat. The lady set a small tray onto the table, on it laid two cups of tea and small plate filled with biscuits. The lady sat across from Nova and began to ask her questions.

"So, Miss Business. You're looking into renting 221c? I must worn you its not the nicest place i have here. It's complete rubbish."

"It's fine Miss.. Um.."

"Hudson."

"Yes, Miss Hudson. It's quite alright with me, I'm just looking for a place where I can sleep."

"Oh, well that's fine with me dear. My ex husband and I, we used to always go - ow!" Miss Hudson covered her ears with her hands as her eyes squinted shut as the sound of a door opening and closing pasted threw the old woman's flat loudly.
Nova was quite pleased with whoever interrupted their conversation, but was also vary bothered by it to. She hated hearing people ramble on about things that she's not vary interested in but she also really wanted to rent out the flat, it was cheap because of the damage done to it and she was in desperate need in a home.

Nova spun her head in the direction of the noise.
Her eyes found an older man with grey hair wearing a black coat standing at the bottom of the steps leading up to, what Nova suspected, another flat.

"John? What was all that racket about?" Mrs. Hudson questioned.

"Sorry about that Mrs Hudson, I've just come from the store. Got in a fight with a chip and pin machine." Johns gaze slowly reached Novas. "Who's this?"

"John, this is Miss. Business. She's thinking about moving into the flat below us. Miss. Business, this is John. One half of the two misfits that live upstairs."
