Chapter 3,

"I Thought You Had Brown Eyes."

***

"What are you two up to? What's with all the books?" Nova had just walked into Sherlock and Watson's flat when she was taken back by the overload of crates of book piled around the room.

Nova hadn't been around to see the two boys since Sherlock asked her to move in. Nova really wanted to say yes to his offer but didn't feel all that great about it. She felt a pit in her stomach form whenever Miss Hudson brought it about whenever Nova was over for a cup of tea.

"So what about Sherlock then? Are you going to move in with him and John?" She would ask her. Sometimes Nova regretting even telling the sweet old woman about his offer.

"It's for a case." replied Sherlock, not looking up as he look through the books raptly and snapping Nova out of her daze.

"Case?" She questioned.

"Yes, a case."

"You two are detectives?" Nova spoke, practically almost yelling, feeling self conscious of her tone.

"You seem worried, why? Are there any crimes you've committed that I don't know about?" Sherlock razed his eyebrow.

"None that should effect you." Nova said jokingly, spotting a small smile spreed across Johns face as he was on the verge of falling asleep.

"Are you sure? None that you commuted in Canada?"

"How did you know I lived in Canada?"

"You have an accent." Sherlock said, still not looking up from his frantic book searching.

"What're you talking about?"

"See, listen to the way you said "about". You said it like" A-Boot". Typical Canadian slang."

Nova was quite impressed with Sherlock knowledge, but also taken back by it . She always hated when people pointed out her Canadian "accent" If you can even call It that. But this time, she wasn't all that angry, surprisingly .

"Canadian? But weren't you British when I first met you?" John asked, as his head jerked up from falling onto the desk from how sleepy and droopy he was.

"I faked it." Nova said simply.

"Faked it?"

"Yeah, I thought it would make a good impression on Miss Hudson."

"I heard my name, what are we talking about me for?" Nova turned her head at the sudden voice. Miss Hudson had just entered the room and had asked Nova a question.

"Oh nothing, Miss Hudson." Nova said, turning her voice into a British ascent. Making Sherlock smile deeply behind the tower of books. "Just talking about how well you make a cuppa tea."

"Oh yes, thank you. Oh, I just remembered. I left the tea downstairs, I'll be right back." Miss Hudson quickly sped down stairs while Sherlock and John chuckled quietly.

Nova strolled over to Sherlock and asked him if she need help. He nods and tells her what to do.

"Find two books from ether side of the room that are the same and look for the first word on the fifteenth page. When done just say it out loud, i'll remember it. And..." Sherlock Finally looked up from his books and at Nova and his eyes widened. "You have blue eyes?"

"I'm sorry, what?"

"You have blue eyes, I could have sworn they were brown when I met you."

"No my eyes have away been blue, Sherlock. Are you feeling okay?" Nova hesitated to put her hand on his shoulder. They weren't that close yet.
