The Rodeo!

One year later~
Setting: a day and a night before NFR roping championship! Fyi: the next day is a competition.
Elena's POV:
Here it is, the two nights before the NFR!Even tomorrow I'm riding in a rodeo. It isn't NFR, but I'm excited to run barrelS, and everything else in it. I'm also  excited to ride in it, but I'm also worried that Hollywood won't work with me there. Sawyer knows my worried face. 😅😅
Sawyer: babe, don't worry, Hollywood will run fine. Y'all have been training very good.
Elena: I know, but what if she doesn't go in, or she knocks a barrel over, and starts acting up, not wanting to run by the barrel. I know it sounds stupid,but I don't know how she will react to it.
Sawyer: honey, she will be fine. You will be fine. Come here, and lay down and watch this movie with me, okay.
Elena: Okay
I climb into the bed and I lay my head on his chest, instead of watching the movie, I fell asleep, because the movie was so boring.

Beep-beep-beep.
I slam my hand on top of the alarm.
Sawyer: wakey wakey eggs and bakey. Rodeo day!!
Elena: I know! I just woke up, and realised that.
Sawyer: attitude much?
Elena: yep, but I'm over it!! 😂
Sawyer: race you to the barn!
Elena: your on!

Sawyer's POV:
She gets up and runs to the bathroom. While I get dressed in the room, I start to hear the water running in the bathroom.
Is she taking a short shower? I thought to myself. Yep, she's taking a shower.
After I get dressed, I go downstairs to get some coffee.
Narrator's POV:
As Sawyer got his coffee, Elena walks down the stairs in her western clothing. "Sorry, I needed to take a shower." Elena said. "Its okay, babe" Sawyer told Elena.
Elena goes to the barn with Sawyer, after she got her cup of coffee. She sees Mayella there,"Good morning!!"
"Good morning!" Mayella said to them.
Mayella's POV:
After our good mornings, all three of us walked in the barn to get our horses ready. " come on Promise, we got a big day ahead of us." I told her. I get her ready, and Paige and the rest of the late sleepers finally get up, and start to work on their own horse. Elena, Sawyer and me get our horses ready to go, and loaded up in the first horse trailer. Paige and Jacob load their horses in their own horse trailer. Kyle loads his horse up in Elena's trailer. "Everyone's tack, horse,and etc. loaded up in the back??" Elena asked everybody. "Yep, all ready to go." Everyone but Elena said.
Narrator's POV:
Elena cranked up her truck, and waited for everyone in her truck to get in. Once everybody got in, she puts pressure on the gas.

One hour later:
They finally get there at the rodeo grounds, around 8:00. The Rodeo starts at 10:00. Elena and Mayella go to sign up for poles, barrels, and team roping. "Are you ready for today?" Elena asked Mayella. "Totally!" Mayella replied.
Elena's POV:
We got our numbers, and went to our horses. Hollywood was ready to run, so was Promise, she wanted to win. You could see it in her eyes.
*************Rodeo starts******************
(Still Elena's pov)
First up is pole bending, then barrels, then the bronc riding, then bull riding, then boys roping, boys team roping, girls roping, and last but not least girls team roping.
Narrator's POV:
Rodeo announcer(RA): First up, we have Bailey Somers riding hornet.
Bailey rides through the course, and has knocked down 3 poles.
RA: Next up, we have Mayella Addison riding Promise Land

lena: Wooh! Go Mayella!! Good luck!
Mayella: thanks!
Mayella runs off towards the first pole and makes a perfect dive around it. She finishes the course with no complaints about it.
RA: Mayella runs a PERFECT RUN, and with a perfect time of a 20.128 seconds!
Mayella: personal best!
Elena: Awesome!!
RA: Next up is Elena Lane riding Hollywood Runner.
Mayella: Go Elena!!
Elena: Thanks
(Mayella's POV: it will return to narrator, when her ride is finished
Elena: Come on girl, we got this. I'm ready when you are girl.

Hollywood takes off running down to the first pole. Elena makes a perfect dive, and goes towards the second. She leans to the left a litttle, to get Hollywood around it. She finishes half of the course, and goes up the other way, PERFECTLY. Elena lets Hollywood go as soon as they turn the last pole. "Go girl go!" Elena yelled!
RA: Well, folks we have an arena record made, with a ride of 19.900 seconds.
(Back to narrator pov)
Mayella: You did good girl!!
Elena: So did you!
After the rest of the competers went, the judges tallied the scores.
RA: In third place, with a time of 29.890, we have Caitlin Somers riding Crowns Autumn. In second place we have with a time of 20.128, is Mayella Addison riding Promise Land. In First place, who set the new arena record of a 19.900, is Elena Lane riding Hollywood Runner! Now ladies, come down and revive your prizes. Also, ladies that are doing Barrels, please get ur horses ready.
Elena and Mayella go and collect their prizes. After that, they went back to the horse trailer and met up with Paige. All three got on their horses, and warmed up their horses for Barrels.
RA: FOLKS! ARE YOU READY FOR SOME TRUE COUNTRY, BARREL RACIN COWGIRLS!?!
Crowd: cheers yeah!
RA: Well, the first one up is our Champion for Poles: Little Ms. Elena Lane riding Hollywood Runner.
Crowd:cheers
Elena: ready when you are girl.
Mayella: Good luck bff
Elena:Thanks bff.
*Elena's POV:*
I start to say Mayella and mine's favorite quote.(The credit of the quote goes to RemingtonsFire721)
When Hollywood takes off, I start saying the quote." Take a good seat and A very firm grip, cause you're in for quite a trip. You'll hit the first going 35, when she gets there she'll seem to dive..." Turned the first barrel. "...that jerk you felt was her shifting gears as you regain your balance and breath again she's bearing down on the second can..." Hollywood turns the second barrel perfectly. "...now your heading towards number three when she leaves there, set her free!" As I finish the quote, I tell free and Hollywood takes off after turning the third barrel.

Narrator's POV:
RA: Well folks, Ms.Elena Lane time is a 13.100 seconds. That's the time to beat! Next up is Paige Smith riding Beautiful Ride.
Paige: Lets do this girl!
Elena/ Mayella: Good luck girl!
Paige: Thanks
Paige's horse ran a very good pattern, she would have beaten Elena, but Paige knocked down a barrel.
RA: Good luck next time, Paige Smith, with a time of 18.000 seconds flat. Next up is Baily Somers riding Hornet.
Bailey rides a good course, but her horse slowed down a little bit on the way home.
RA: Good job Bailey, with a time of 17.900 seconds.
Next up is Mayella Addison riding Promise Land.
Elena: Lets go Mayella!
Mayella lines Promise up, and they take off.
Mayella's POV:
We take off towards the first barrel, while I'm saying Elena and my's favorite barrel racing quote:" Take a good seat and a very good grip cause you're in for q cause you're in for quite a trip. You'll hit the first going 35, when she gets there she'll seem to dive..." Turned the first barrel. "...now your heading towards number three when she leaves there, set her free!" As I turn the barrel, Promise knows the quote, Promise takes off running after we turn it.
RA: Well, folks that's an arena record right there, Ms.Mayella Addison's time is 13.0 seconds.
Narrator's POV:
The rest of the competiters go, and the judges tallied up the scores and announced the winners:
~3rd: Hannah Lovely riding Surgar Rush with a
time of 13.50
~2nd: Elena Lane riding Hollywood Runner with a time of 13.1
~1st: Mayella Addison riding Promise Land with a arena record of 13.000 seconds.

Time passed and Sawyer and Kyle were in neither 1st place or 2nd place in their events. Jacob got 3rd place in roping, and that's it. Now all of the girls were PROUD of their young men, and the men were Very proud of their girls.Elena gets a phone call from her mom:
E for Elena. M for Elena's mom:
E: Hey mom.
M: Hey, how's the rodeo??
E: good, I broke the record for poles and Mayella broke the record for barrels. Sawyer and Kyle won Their team roping, and Paige got third in girls roping. Jacob got third in his roping. Me and mayella are about to start our team roping.
M: Thats awesome! Well, good luck hun. I love y'all
(Elena's mom kinda treats them all like her kids)
E: Olay momma, we love you too.
M: bye
E: bye
*ends phone call*
************************After that it was time for the girls team roping.
RA: Now folks, who is ready for some girls action!?!
Crowd: *cheers*
RA: I thought you would say that! Next up is Elena lane riding Hollywood Runner and Mayella Addison riding Promise Land.
Elena gives Mayella the "I'm ready" face, and Mayella tells them to let the calf go. Mayella swings her rope around the horns and the calfs neck, and sets it up for Elena to rope it's hind legs. Elena swings the rope and catches it's hind legs in the matter of seconds.
RA: WELL FOLKS, THESE GIRLS DONT GIVE THESE ARENA RECORD A BREAK DO THEY, WITH A TIME OF 19.000 SECONDS THEY AGAIN BREAK THE ARENA RECORD. (again as in they both keep breaking an arena record. Like when Elena broke the record for pole and mayella broke the record for barrels.)
RA: Next up we have Bailey Somers riding Hornet, and Caitlin Somers riding Crowns Autumn.
They rope their calf and exits the arena with a time of 25.000 seconds.
The rest of the ladies for team roping run their runs. The judies tally up the scores and then announce the winners:
~3rd place: Bailey Somers riding Hornet and Caitlin Somers riding Crown Autumn with a time of 25.000
~2nd place:Molly Taylor riding Swinging boy and Taylor Jackson riding Fast Balls with a time of 20.128
~1st place: Elena Lane riding Hollywood Runner and Mayella Addison riding Promise Land with a time of 19.000
They all collect our prizes, and head to our trailers. Elena and Mayella gets their horses untacked and loaded up, and Kyle and Sawyer gets theirs ready to go and loaded up. They wait for Paige and Jacob to load theirs up in the other trailer. They all get ready to go, and Elena starts to drive off after everyone got in and she cranked up the truck. An hours later the pulled up to the house they are all staying in, in Dallus, Texas, and they unload all of the horses, and put them in the field, or in a stall.
After that, everyone went straight to bed, everyone was so tried they just left the trucks together with the horse trailers.
**Elena's POV**
The next day, is the NFR rodeo. Mayella and me are totally ready for it. While the rest of the events went one, we were practicing our swing. We swung our ropes, until they canned our names. We put the horses in the pen for the run, and hold them until the steer broke it's barrier. As soon as it did, we both took off. Mayella roped its horns and I roped its legs. "Well, folks we have here a world champion team!" The Rodeo announcer said. They called out the results, and Mayella and me went to collect our prizes. Soon after that, the whole group went back to the trailers, and went to bed.
