Delilah's POV
"So you guys, I have a proposition for you." My manager Mark (or "dickhole mark" as we like to call him) grinned at me and my bandmate Harry across the table we were sat at.
It was December, which is the height of summer in Adelaide. I loved it because I could wear my shorts and look super grunge with my flannels and stuff but it also meant that band practises were very sweaty. Especially in Izzy's parents' garage, you could literally start a sauna business in there...
My name is Delilah and I am in a pop punk band called Hostile Rhythm. We are from Adelaide in Australia and we are definitely not celebrities at all, before you jump into conclusions.
We have a YouTube channel where we post covers and we just finished our first ever EP. I'll say one thing, the studio is very scary... I hate those damn microphones.
We have a decent enough following here in Australia but it's quite difficult to get enough fans in different countries to actually tour there which is a bummer.
We've been trying to plan a tour for ages but we can never find dates when there isn't something huge on, for example...we were going to play in Sydney on Christmas Day. Who the fuck wants to go to a concert on Christmas Day?
Anyway, we are in a meeting with Mark trying to plan something so we can actually make a living and stop eating pop tarts for our dinner. Welcome to band life kids.
Izzy, our drummer and Ethan, our guitarist had just had a lecture about being careful after the last tour we had. They ended up getting really drunk underage and almost got arrested for assaulting police officers. They didn't mean it, they just fell on top of a guy. Still, you can't take them anywhere. We could hear the shouting from through the door so no wonder they're all in a depressed mood.
Mark was still in a pretty bad mood after that so Harry and I were walking on eggshells around him.
"What's your proposition?" Harry asked, tapping his finger on the table in front of us.
"I have found some options for UK tours next year." He sighed looking through his piles of paperwork.
"How can we go on a UK tour we have like 10 fans?" I muttered.
"Let me talk Ms Warren." He snapped, i hated when he called me that. Certainly does live up to the name dickhole Mark.
"Calm down." Harry mumbled, rolling his eyes.
"So, I have found a couple of bands going on big U.K. Tours that you could potentially support....I just need you to choose your favourite." My face instantly lit up as soon as he said that. I've always wanted to do a support tour, you get to play so many cool new places and you might meet a hot celebrity. It's a win win situation.
I looked over at Harry who's face matched mine. Collectively as a band we all like the same music so it'll be a pretty easy decision as to who we choose. Unless it's like Green Day vs Blink 182 or something, that would be the war to end all wars. I don't think I could choose.
"So I have three acts. The first one is Ne Yo in February." I snorted so loud when this came out of Mark's mouth. Ne Yo is basically the complete opposite of us. I guess it would be pretty funny to see the look on the crowds face if we come on and scream and play guitar solos. I mean we don't scream that much but Ethan sometimes scares the occasional Mum or Dad at one of our shows.
