The world beyond her passenger window was dark but gentle. The only reprieve from the clutches of the night was the moon. Casting its radiant, silver, glow onto the trees and road below. Wendy stared at the magnificent beauty that was her home Gravity Falls, Oregon. Where the forest stretched as far as the eye could see. Soft music danced in the background, the light plucking of guitar strings, only adding to her mesmerizing silence. It wasn't an uncomfortable silence though, it was quite the opposite in fact. She could of sat there forever watching the scenery pass by. Until a voice spoke out in the darkness.
"What are you thinking about?" It asked. The voice deep, strong, yet gentle and soft. How she loved that voice.
Wendy turned her head slightly, taking her eyes away from the window, to gaze at the person in the drivers seat.
"Nothing," she replied. "Just enjoying the view, man."
A smile graced her lips as she stared at the man sitting next to her, taking in all of his details. From his shaggy brown hair that reached down the nape of his neck, to the almost tribal looking tattoo that sat upon his forearms and seemed to disappear into the rolled up sleeve of his red flannel shirt.
He was extremely handsome. With strong, defined, facial features that framed his chocolate colored eyes that stared intensely at the road before them. His full lips pulled into a small smile when he felt her eyes on him.
"Wendy, I know I'm amazing, so the view must be totally awesome!" he said before quickly glancing at her, his eyes shining with laughter.
"Shut up, dork!" She giggled, punching him lightly in the arm, before taking his free right hand in her left.
The grip that he responded with filled her with content. It made her feel safe and loved. Heat filled her cheeks as she watched him smile, revealing his perfectly white teeth. He had changed so much since his first summer here. Though mostly all of it was physical, he was still her doofus, her shy and awkward dipping sauce. Only showing confidence when he was in an environment that was comfortable to him, like now. Here in the car with just the two of them, the stars, and the moon. Their love hadn't come naturally at first. It was slow and kind of awkward. Especially since Wendy wasn't really keen to admit her feelings at the beginning.
The guilt from rejecting him the first time and the stubbornness that came from being a Corduroy definitely didn't make it easy for Dipper. It was an up hill battle, one that moved incredibly slow and left everyone exhausted half way up. Being hours away didn't help either but eventually after a full school year, another crazy summer filled with the weird and strange. He finally gained her love when he stayed by her side through one of the most difficult times in her life, proving that no matter what, he would always be there for her.
Now here they were a year and 9 months later, Dipper 15 and Wendy 18, driving through the winding roads of the place they called home. Enjoying each others company.
"What do you want to do when we get back?" Dipper asked.
"Hmm, well, I'm not really tired yet and don't want to sleep in a cold bed all alone." Wendy replied with a seductive smile. Causing Dipper to flush and take his eyes off the road again for a quick second. Before turning his attention back to the road he cleared his throat.
"W-well I can't just l-let a lady suffer alone in the cold night, now can I?" The shyness breaking through his usual confident smile caused Wendy to giggle.
"Always my little gentleman, aren't you?" She asked leaning towards him, giving him a peck on the cheek. He turned to flash her a smile and that's when she seized his lips and kissed him deeply.
"Wendy~" He groaned in protest and love. "I have to watch the road," though his lips still moved hungrily beneath hers.
She loved the power she could have over him even with just a simple kiss. How she could make him weak beneath her arms.
Though just then Wendy felt a flash of light press against her closed eyelids. With a start she snapped her eyes to the road. A pair of headlights barreled towards them, fast. The truck swerved severely between lanes. "Dipper, watch out!" Wendy screamed.
Then everything seemed to happen so fast. The truck swerved into their lane as dipper grabbed the steering wheel in both hands. Slamming on the breaks and turning to try and avoid the collision. The car turned hard, smoke erupting from the tires as it screeched trying to slow down. The truck also began to turn, and Wendy thought that for a second, they might just miss each other but as fate would have it. The cab of the truck swung into their back side. With a jolt Wendy was whipped hard from side to side. Her head striking the passenger side windshield, before she could let out a scream, almost knocking her out. The impact caused the car to flip over and over as it rolled into the ditch. Wendy barely registered the sound of metal crunching around her, the sound of shattering windows, and just as quickly as it began it stopped.
The car coming to a stop. Disoriented and barely conscious she looked around. Her fire red hair reaching for the destroyed roof, her hands mimicking the action. blood dripped from her head. Her head was in so much pain and felt like it was going to split open. She turned her head to the side to her lover. His eyes were closed and blood dripped from his face where shards of glass had cut into it. She reached for her little man. Tears filling her emerald orbs. "D-dipper," She cried. There was no response and she feared the worst.
"D-dipper, please, wake up!" Though just before she could reach him her vision started to go black and with the final moments of her consciousness she gave one more cry
"Dipper, don't leave me."
