To say she was confused would have been understatement. Many things ran through her head. Questions all carefully articulated. 'You're kidding, right? Who are you really? When did you grow up? Dude, where's my car?' but the only thing that came out was. "Uh."
She mentally smacked herself. 'Good going, Wen! Show him that you hold a conversation as well as a baby!' Flushing from embarrassment, she turned her head to hide beneath her hair. She thought about how she was just ruining the mood, and thought it was true when she felt him shake, was he crying!? Crap! What should she say? Is there anything she could say!? "Look, I'm sorry I just-" she stopped after turning back to him. His cheeks were red and there were tears threatening to fall, but those eyes burned with laughter.
"Wow, you must have put a lot of thought into that, uh, sentence!" This time his laughter came forth, hearty, and the sound of it filled her with happiness.
"Shut up!" She pouted jokingly. Reaching over and flicking his forehead with her left index finger. This caused his hair to dance out of the way and only for a second she could make out, a part, of his signature birthmark. He really was Dipper!
He looked up at her, those warm eyes, melting her on the spot. Those perfect lips pulled up into a knock out smile. 'Damn, he's too cute.' She stopped her train of thoughts, 'woah! woah, Dipper's your friend. You can't be having thoughts like that, at least, not for him!...Right?' "Earth to Wendy! Come in Wendy!" Dipper said, in a mock radio voice. The static and all, thus, pulling Wendy back from her thoughts.
"What do you want, dork?" She snickering, earning another chuckle from Dipper.
"I asked if you were hungry or if you need anything," he said.
She was about to tell him that she was fine but just as she opened her mouth, her stomach let out a very loud grumble. Her mouth hung open for a few seconds and heat slowly filled her cheeks, then eventually, her face was as red as her hair. Dipper's face turned almost the same shade since he was trying his best to hold back his laughter. After taking a couple seconds to calm himself, he spoke, "So what would you 'chuckle' like to eat?"
Wendy turned her head to hide, once again, behind her hair. "Can I just get, like, anything please?" She was too embarrassed to look him in the eyes but her ears could hear him stand, and walk towards the door. Pausing in the doorway he spoke one last time, "I'll be right back." Then he was gone. When she was sure he was out of ear shot, she groaned. 'Now I'm the dork!
'Way to play it cool Corduroy!' she criticized herself. 'Just let him hear you rip one next time, why don't yah!?' She grumbled some unintelligible words to her self before she heard a door open. It was the doctor. Holding another clipboard in his hands and beaming at her as if he just won the lotto.
"Hello again, Ms. Corduroy! Did you enjoy your visit?" He asked, once again, with a little too much enthusiasm for her to handle. She cringed inwardly, trying to play it cool on the surface, but secretly wishing she could jump out the window. "It was okay, I guess." She looked out the window. Frustration hitting her like a car. 'Ha!' she giggled in her head, 'oh, the irony.' "It's just that, before, I already had so many questions! How did I get here? Who was I with? Why the hell can't I remember anything!?" She huffed, then blew a strand of hair out from the front of her face, "and now I have even more questions than I do answers!" She looked out the window, her frustration turning into confusion and panic.
The doctor just walked around her bed and stared out the window as well, not saying anything, just listening. "I mean, the last time I remember seeing Dipper was at his 14th birthday party, here, at Gravity Falls! He hadn't even stood at chin level with me!" Wendy grabbed a fistful of covers, tears filling her eyes." Now, here he is, sitting by my side looking like some male model and towering over me! From what I remember he was all the way in Piedmont, California." The tears fell then. "It just doesn't make sense."
