I want to return to the past
And cast away this nostalgia
So I can return to those
Memories of my childhood.I remember the boys
Playing their amateur soccer games
And the girls
Gathered together in gossip groups.I see this from where I am,
Swinging back and forth
On a swing and trying
To hit the elm tree branches
With my long foot.I was always alone
But it wasn't bad
Because from my swing
I can see everything,
Even if people didn't see me.There were moments when
The suns rays sparkle through
The tree branches and hit my
Curious brown eyes.
I closed them and wished
For recess to never end.Now I'm older
And there's no swing sets.
I wish I can, for 5 minutes,
Relax in that memory
And feel young again.
