The Vampire, The Wolf, And Me

James POV

"Hurry! Lay her here on the tabel!" Jack yelled at me as I carried Steffs limp and nearly lifeless body into his house.

He and Neal quickly knocked off everything that had been on the tabel onto the wood floor. Glass objects shattered and metal ones clanged as they hit the floor.

I gently laid Steff down on the tabel as Jack checked her pulse. "Shit! She's nearly completely turned. Keith, get the herbs from the cabinet and begin making the counteractive to reverse the change!" Jack yelled.

I ran my fingers through my hair as I saw Jack, Neal, and Keith bustling around Steffs motionless body on the tabel.

I glanced out the window to see other members of the clan were beginning to gather outside the house. We probly made such a spectacle running in like this.

The wolf who was kicked out of his own clan returns with his girlfriend who is on the brink of becoming a vampire. Quite a scene if you ask me.

"James!" Neal yelled, which snapped me out my state of deep thought. I turned my attention to him.

"Draw those curtains shut...nobody needs to watch this." Neal said softly.

I walked over to the window and drew the curtains shut. Tears began to well up in my eyes.

"This is going to work, right?" I asked still facing the window.

"I sure as hell hope so. We've reversed vampiric changes in other clan menebers. But none have ever progressed this far." Keith said as he poured the mixed herbs into a cup and handed it to Jack.

"It has to work! What will I do if it doesn't?!" I yelled.

None of them answered. They just looked at eachother with saddened expressions on their faces.

"Wait...you don't mean," I took a deep breath, "Kill her?" I said softly.

"Lets just hope it doesn't come to that." Jack said as he opened Steffs mouth and poured the mixture down her throat.

I fell to my knees and began to cry. This was all my fault! I would lose her either way if this didn't work. But it had to, it just had to!
