James POV
I stared at Steff shocked at what she just said. She sat in front of me on the bed, tears streaming down her face.
How had she heard us? We had been whispering the whole time...unless. She's retained some vampiric abilities, such as hearing apparently.
"Look Steff, I can explain." I said.
"Well you better do it damn quick! I've had just about enough of all these surprises and lies!" She cried.
"I didn't tell you because I was afraid you would leave me."
"So you've told me all theses lies over your pathetic fear that I would leave. James, I love you I could never leave you...or at least I did." She got real quiet then looked down at the bedsheets.
I knew she would hate me once I told her. Im such a fool! I should have listened to Jack in the first place.
"Steff..." I drifted off.
She wouldn't look at me. I turned my head to Jack and them and motioned for them to leave.
They nodded and left the room, shutting the door behind them. And now it was just me and Steff.
I place my finger under her chin and lifted her face as I smiled at her. Her eyes were red and puffy from all her tears. But she was still beautiful.
"What?" She said. Her voice was choked with tears.
"I know you may never be able to forgive me. But I will always love you. And I hope that everything that has just happened to you won't change your feelings for me. But if it dose, allow me to still be there and protect you." I said.
Her expression seemed to brighten and a small smile made its way onto her face.
"Oh James!" She shouted
I then leaned in and kissed her on the lips and she wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled me in closer.
Until we found ourselves taking off all our clothes and falling into bed together where we spent the rest of the night making love.
