"Alixandria!" I hear my mother call from downstairs of our townhouse. I don't reply. I can hear her blow a breath of air through pursed lips. "Alix?" she tries again. That's more like it.

"What?" I call back.

"I need you downstairs to help with dinner," She replies. I groan. I suck ass at cooking and she knows it. "Now," She calls with greater urgency. I roll off my bed, defeated.

"Fine," I yell down to her. I clomp down the stairs in my bare feet and barely resist the urge to slide down on my butt. My mother stands at the counter, poring over a cookbook. "What'dya need me for?" I ask.

"Dinner," She replies without looking up. I roll my eyes at her.

"So, am I just going to stand here and watch you read?" I ask, the sarcasm heavy in my voice. She turns around sharply.

"Young lady, I think you need to change that tone of voice you just used with me." A dangerous gleam shines in her eye. I, being the stupid adolescent I am, ignore it.

"What are you gonna do, ground me?" I ask in mock fear. "It's not like you let me hang out with my friends anyway." I then proceeded to do the worst thing in the book after being fresh with your mom: Pulled out my phone. That sent her off the edge.

"Alixandria, give me your phone." I looked up.

"Nah," I said. She gasped.

"How dare you defy me like this! Give my your phone now, Alix!" She exclaimed. I didn't look up. Wrong move. Then again, today has been chock full of wrong moves. Oh well.

My mother took in a deep breath. "Get out of my house, Alixandria." I gaped at her.

"Excuse me, what?" I said.

"You heard me, get out!" She yelled. "I'm sick and tired of this shit you make me put up with. Now I'm done. Get the fuck out!"

Now I'm crying. Like really, truly sobbing my eyes out.

But, lucky for me, my dad walks in. My dad definitely loves me more than my mom does.

Unluckily for me, he's stumbling in the door, snogging a woman who I've never seen before in my life.
