Sometimes, angels were attacked by mischievery too.

Well, not all, and that rarely happens.

But it just did one fateful day. God must have knew it from the start that it would happen, so He already knew what to do about it.

You shall be sent down to earth for a mission. If you failed to accomplish it, you will never come back here again.

His words stung Riel like a bee, worse it shattered her like a house against a storm. Riel knew that what she did was wrong. How could she just let herself be tempted by a fallen angel? It had been years ago when her best friend, Hanobo, was an angel who lived in Heaven with her and all the other angels. Hanobo was assigned to guard a mortal in place of Gabriel for a while. But he was drawn by lust and temptation to sin. Hanobo turned himself into human just to feast on a mortal's body- sexually. And that offense disappointed their Almighty. He was now a fallen angel for good.

Riel had been made so kind that she could not help to stop seeing her best friend who had a miserable fate. They would always see each other on the troposphere, a part of heaven which belonged to earth. Hanobo would always show her around each time Riel escapes a little from her responsibilities in Heaven. She was awed by how the mortals live, and how they looked like wingless angels.

Until Hanobo had her tempted to play with humans.

"You can do it," she remembered him told her as they slipped in to a war situation between soldiers and rebels at a thick jungle. "All you have to do is keep whispering what they should do. Remember, I control the rebels and you control the soldier. If your group wins, I'll give you a special gift from earth, if my group wins, you'll have to exchange your wings with mine."

Riel found that a friendly competition so she made a deal.

And the rebels won.

Suddenly, before they could exchange wings, golden-haired Gabriel appeared and pulled her away from Hanobo.

"Enough!" He snapped at Hanobo then he faced Riel. "You can't do this! You can't give away what the Almighty has given to you!"

"G-Gabriel," she stammered, shaking in fear as her worried eyes stared at Gabriel's perfect face.

He was one of the most graceful angels God has made and Riel could not help to admire such a wonderful creature. She admired him like a brother.

"Enough, Riel," he said, trying to calm himself. He gripped her wrist and pulled her up toward the sky. Higher and higher until they could reach Heaven.

"The Almighty have been watching you. He thought you will get over this, but you didn't. He cannot tolerate what you are doing now."

"B-But, Hanobo is my best friend."

"It's not about your friendship with Hanobo. It is what you are doing now because of Hanobo."

They reached the Heaven's and the Almighty's punishment have been given to her. A punishment that turned out to be a challenge.

"You have to find the mortal with a broken heart. You can recognize him when you meet three times. On the third time you'll meet him, don't let him get out of your sight. You should heal him by heart, make him turn back to Me. Then, if your mission is done, I will send Garbriel to bring you back here for My judgment."

Riel lowered down her head. She was feeling ashamed in front of the other seraphs watching her trial.

"Remember, you shouldn't break any rules in your mission. If you did, this will lead to your failure of coming back here. You will be a fallen angel."

"No!" she gasped.

She saw God lowered down His head. His face was forlorn, exaggerated with sorrow.

Then, Michael took her by arm and said, "Let's go now."

Riel had nothing left to do but do the mission. After all, everything was her fault. She told those soldiers to kill every rebel they would find so that she could win her little game against Hanobo. That was so selfish of her.

As they decended down to the earth, Michael hugged her tightly. His embrace grew tight as his wings folded around her. Michael had been one of the angels that Riel admired too, aside from Gabriel. If Gabriel was the very serious type, Michael was almost the opposite. He was always smiling and wanted fun.

"I am so sorry about what happened to you," he whispered in her ear. "I hope you'll make it. Heaven will be so sad without you."

Then, she felt the pain on her back, close to her shoulder blades. Riel could not help to whimper as Michael pulled out her wings from her back.

With her wings gone, Riel was now completely human. She lost all the things that only her wings could give he to make her an angel again.

"We will still keep your wings until you completed the mission," he said as he sadly turned away. Michael gave her one last look before he tapped his feet against the ground and flew up until he faded away from her sight.

Riel sighed heavily. How was she going to start looking for the man with a broken heart that God wanted her to help? She looked around and realized that the world was too big for you if you weren't an angel. You could not see all the places at once, and you couldn't fly.

She decided to stand up and walk down that hill where Michael left her. Down the hill were houses, maybe she would find the man with a broken heart and she would fulfill her mission.

A mission that she thought that would be easy.
