THE YEAR THAT WAS

2013 is already at its final stage. And like anybody else, I look back to the year that was.

This year has really been such a rush. I was just celebrating the new years eve of 2013 and before I know it, here comes 2014! Days gone by so quickly or am I just too busy to notice the passing days?  I don’t know, I’m in front of the computer most of the time.

I just Praise God, for this year has really been productive. God taught me a lot of different things in different aspects in my life, whether in business, relationships and many others.  I’ve done things that I could never imagined that I could do in a million years. It just shows that it’s never too late to learn or discover new things about yourself.

One of the things that God taught me is, contentment works in two ways.

One of which is, you have to be content of what you have, of the many blessings that God has given you. Do not overlook it by envying your neighbors blessings because if we do, we covet things that are not meant for us and take for granted the things that we have. Count your blessings, if you can, list it everyday. You’ll be amazed on how God is working in your life! Sometimes we really overlook it because we are more focused on the things that we don’t have.

On the other side of it…

We should not be contented on our present status especially when it comes to productivity, work or business. We should strive to do more. Learn more. Think more. Improve more. Don’t ever think that you’ve reached your full potential because you can still discover something inside of you that is worth paying attention to.

As a nation, 2013 has taught us a lot of things. It was a series of ups and down. We’ve proven that we Filipinas are the fairest one of all, by top notching prestigious beauty contest!  Our favorite athlete has won back his crown.

But aside from all those glory, we’ve experience pain because of calamities. Many people lost their families. So many accounts has left us teary eyed.

Despite of all those pains,  God taught us to be unified. To be compassionate. God taught us how to give, even gave up the yearly Christmas parties and gift giving just to show our love to those who are badly affected by the calamity. We have also proven that we Filipinoes are strong, that despite of all those sad experiences, we still find something to smile about. And for that I am very proud to be a Filipino.

Now that the year is finally over, we are now looking forward to a new year. What will happen?  Will the coming year be great? Or would it be another traumatic year? We don’t need to consult an expert to know our future. All we need is to trust God and put all of our cares and  anxieties to Him. We can’t take all the bad things away, because how can you appreciate the rainbow if you haven’t gone thru the rain!

Whatever will happen, I know that God is in control. He holds the universe at the palm of his hand. I know I have a big God who looks after me… so I Know that 2014 IS GOING TO BE GREAT!!! MORE BLESSINGS IN THE YEAR TO COME!!!

TO ALL MY READERS… you have been such an inspiration… HAPPY NEW YEAR AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
