Promise #1: A Vow That Never Was Broken

The weeks been nice. As long as I was sure I hadn't lost Leir my life was perfect.

I ran my fingers over the emerald center.

"It's beautiful." I smiled. He perked up.

"i-i'm really glad you liked it."
He whispered.

I smiled at the bracelet and put it on. I stood up and walked over to the balcony.

"Come Markus look at this." I said.

He walked over and hugged me from behind.

"Yes honey?"

"Look at what we accomplished. Look over at what we earned. Look at what we are."
I said looking at the land below us filled with ecstatic people smiling and laughing. The green land mixing perfectly with the glowing sunset.

I looked at him. He smiled and looked back at the land.
"And now our achievement will be passed on."
He said rubbing the large bump on my belly.

"And I can't wait."

"Leir! Come here!" I shouted. He teleported in a second.

"He- Melissa! You look beautiful!" He said smiling so you could see his pearly whites.

I looked down at the white dress with green emeralds indented on it.
"Sure is!"

Leir's POV

"Wait! I have something to go along, wait here!"

"Kay."

I teleported to my room. Before looking out my balcony I smiled. Mother I'll do you good I whispered to myself before going into my closet.

I stepped on a certain hidden tile and then a door opened. I smiled before entering. I looked at the glass case before me. I opened the latch and took out the small black box. I kissed it and soon felt a tear roll down my cheek.

"I promise."

Melissa's POV

Leir soon came back with a black....box. I don't think he was proposing. He couldn't. Not this early. He walked over to me and opened the box.

Phew it wasn't a ri- my god. I'm front of me lay the most beautiful emerald encrusted bracelet. My mouth gaped open. I grazed my fingers over the bracelet and almost cried. He loved me so much.

"F-For me?" I stuttered he nodded.
He put it on me and I squealed. I gave him a big long heart filled kiss.

"I love you....so much."

We were at the dining room. There were beautiful girls and handsome gentleman dancing together.

I smiled at Leir and hugged him. His suit was a bit uncomfortable to touch and I'm sure he knew. I smiled and nodded. He desperately needed to change into another suit. He quickly teleported out of the dining room. Before going he pointed to a long red table.

I'm guessing I had to go so I did. There was his grand mother and father I had met before. They greeted me with warm smiles.

Next to them was a man I haven't seen before he looked similar to Leir except he had black silky hair instead of Leir's brown chocolatey hair that I learned to love. Probably his brother. Next to him the lovely little Kayla wearing her orange locks accompanied with pale blue eyes. She had on a small red dress. Not slutty small. She seemed 7 or 8 years old.

I saw a few aunts and uncles and other people. Weird, It occured to me that i hadn't seen Leir's parents at the dinner party before and now. They might be....no they can't. Maybe they're just a bit late today, or work, busy?

I sat down next to Kayla and we had a good convo, she said she wasn't a vampire yet. She had to be 16 to be a vampire.

I smiled at her. Suddenly Leir came behind me and smiled. I slightly shrieked from fear and pushed him childishly.

He smiled before taking his seat next to me. He gave me a kiss on the cheek.

"Hey! Do you kiss Miss. Melissa on the lips like big brother Blake does with Miss. Natalie?" Kayla blurted out of nowhere. I giggled and Leir instantly turned red.

I gave him a quick peck on the lips and looked back at Kayla.

"Yes. And he loves it!" I exclaimed. I looked back at him and he was as red as a tamato! I smiled,
"Don't you?"

He slowly nodded before giving me a glare when Kayla wasn't looking. I shrugged it off. The rest of the night was awesome balls! Whoop. Don't know where that came from?

I got along with Natalie. We talked about girl stuff. She told me about Blake's fears and I told her about Leir's. Did you know he was scared of taking to long to poop because he thought he would be glued to the toilet forever. Yeesh!

"So I've been meaning to ask this but,....where are Leir's parents?"
Her face suddenly lost it's bright playful colors and was replaced with a face of sadness and hurt.

"They were....killed by.....them."
My smile faded.

"Who?" I asked sadly.

"Vampire Hunters."

"Oh."

"They had killed a large population of vampires. If it wasn't for the sacrifice of the king and queen we wouldn't be here. The king and Queen's mother and father took the remaining vampires who survived, and hid."

She started to silently sob.
"And they killed all I had!" She sputtered. I pulled her in for a hug.
Loosing everything.

I know how that feels.

The thoughts flushed into me. My mother. My brother. My father. Lianna....I lost them all.

But I wasn't gonna loose my dignity.

Suddenly a guard burst in,

"Your highnesses! They are here for us! The hunters are back!" The guard yelled at Blake and Leir. Everyone started to panic.

Blake and Leir told everyone to go to a safe room I think. They must've had it installed for this kind
of situation.

Blake and Leir shoved me, Natalie, and Kayla into a dark small room.

"Don't move okay. Please this is for your life. Got it?" Leir stated quickly.

I nodded along with the other two,
"Tell me you'll come back." I whispered to him.
He nodded.
"Promise?" I asked.

"I promise."
