Loukya's PoV:

It's a new day which gives me another chance to win. I got up from bed and took shower.

I wore a white colour salwar kameez and got ready as soon as possible and went down.

"Madam, breakfast" maid said

I sat on dining table with my family and had it. I completed my break fast.

"Madam, today as per your schedule, you are going to attend Convocation function going to be held in Durgabhai Deshmukh College" my PA said making me to reminisce memories of my college days.

Today I am attending convocation function in the status of a chief guest to the same college where I completed my studies and received convocation certificate.

I went to the college. Principal along with students cordially invited me into the convocation hall. I sat on the chair reserved for me.

Principal took the mike to start the ceremony. After saying few words about the college, she started introducing me.

"Today our chief guest, Ms. Loukya, our District Collector (Indian Administrative Service), inspiration to young generations is here to share her experience and the success secrets if her life. I am proud to say Ms. Loukya is alumni (old student) of this college and a winner of six gold medals. I hand over the mike to her, to share few points that help you to climb the tree of success in your life" Principal said and gave mike to me. I took the mike.

"Hi friends and future of India,

I am glad to meet you as I am alumni of this college.

Teenage and college life are two things which are most happiest moments of our life. But, this is the most crucial time for you to frame your career too. Teenage - an age of confusion and College life - full of choices, both wrong and right.

Today I am a Collector and everyone my family, teachers and friends are proud of me. But there was a time where even I am not proud of myself. There was a time where I lacked confidence. A time where I tried to commit suicide" I paused.

Entire hall is pin drop of silence. Everyone are so quite and their faces are expressing shock. I smiled looking at their shocking faces.

I continued my speech remembering my past.

I am in my graduation and in teenage. I am happy and busy with my studies and family. My friends, my life and my enjoyments but everything in a limit. I am a topper in studies but didn't miss college moments such as bunking classes, watching movies, chitchatting, facebook etc.

In my second year, I am waiting for bus. Someone came on bike and got down from bike. He came near to me. I ignored him.

"Hello, I am Abhijith. I used to observe you everyday. I.. I.. am in love with you" he said shocking me.

My body shivered at once. Somehow I gained courage and looked at him.

"Look mister" I said pointing my fore finger towards him.

"Wait. I am not forcing you. I just expressed my feelings. Think well and tell me by tomorrow. I will meet you here again tomorrow evening. If your answer is No, I never show my face to you again" he said and went from there.

I went to my home. May be because of teenage, the word "Love" created new feelings in me. I remembered his words and his face again. Unknowingly I smiled. Next day, I waited for him. He came and I agreed to his proposal.

My life changed a lot from that day. I felt so happy in his love. I forgot this world. Chatting with him became my routine and top most priority. We are happy for 6 months. Slowly differences arised between us. Being an independent and courageous girl, I have my own principles of life. I can't go against those principles.

I can't roam with him, I can't fulfill his wishes of kissing etc. Is love and lust the same? For me, both are different. A person who loves me truly can wait till we both get married to kiss or to do anything else. There is no hurry to own me before marriage.

He started becoming angry on me for everything as I asked him to wait till marriage. For the first time, he became rude to me. As I believe love happens only once in life, I borne his words and rudeness.

Suddenly, one day he said that his parents fixed his marriage. I requested him, but of no use. He became rude and his words hurt me so much. I cried for many months. I lost my rank. I lost my courage and confidence.

Till that day, I never realised how much I love him. I can't explain my situation to my parents as they didn't know about my love. Few friends supported and few friends started spreading rumours on me saying I have affair with Abhijith. I went into depression. I tried to commit suicide but death too rejected me.

My parents tried to cheer me up thinking that I was upset because of losing my rank. Slowly, I started reading inspirational books. I made myself so busy with studies. After 6 months, I recovered from depression. Though I didn't forget him, I moved on with my life and I topped in exams again. I won 6 goldmedals in 6 subjects establishing new record in college.

I slowly started inspiring people and guiding juniors. I focused on my goal after completing graduation. Slowly I forgot him. I achieved my goal of becoming IAS.

I completed sharing my past and entire hall was filled with claps. I smiled.

"So friends, we commit mistakes in this age unknowingly. Crush and attraction are natural in this age. But, be careful. Because, only few can handle life inspite of failures where as many give up on life.

Love had the power to make a life beautiful or to ruin a beautiful life. Falling in love is not wrong. But, falling in love at improper age without maturity is wrong. Committing mistakes again and again is wrong. Rectify your mistakes. Learn from failures. Let no one interfere and disturb your world of success. Take the charge of your life. Past is past. No regrets, no complaints. Leave it and let it go.

Focus on your education. Concentrate on ur targets. Fight for your goals. Once if you reach your goal, whole world bows before you. Then, it's your wish to share your life with anyone you love, as you will have enough maturity to know what is wrong or right and make perfect choice.

It's your life. You are the winner. Let your life shine forever. Good luck future India" I ended my speech.

I found a smile and confidence on the face of students which gave great satisfaction to me. I never expected that my life will become inspiration to someone. But a nightmare of my life made me an inspiration to others.

Failure is not final. It's just a stepping stone for success. It's all our choice to make our life beautiful or to ruin our beautiful life. I choosed to make my life beautiful.
