WEDNESDAYThey say that when you do or say something cute, you are gay. When you say or do something different from everyone else, you are crazy and you probably should go to a psychologist.
That's exactly where Blake is right now, sitting on a really uncomfortable chair, trying to find a comfortable position, and it seemed like an impossible task.
"Why are you here today, Blake?" The man with chocolate colored skin asked, while adjusting the glasses on his face.
She wanted to answer that not even she knew exactly why, that the only thing she knew was that she felt different from everyone else, even if nobody knew that except for her and her mother.
But the only answer she could muster was a "I don't really want to talk about it." Even if her mind screamed all the words she wanted to say, she couldn't. She couldn't just spill all her secrets to someone she didn't know.
"That's not a problem, we can talk about anything else, anything you want." His kind voice didn't seem forced, and he didn't seem like he was analyzing her every move, and she appreciated that.
"So, you are not going to give me tests to do or write everything I say?" Blake asked as she looked at his lap, where his hands stayed intertwined, with no notebook around.
"I usually write everything on a computer after the session, I'm no old fashioned psychologist" He smiled, another kind smile, and Blake found herself smiling back, it was inevitable, she couldn't stop herself from doing so.
"Can I ask you a few questions? I just want to know something about you." She had asked this to all her past shrinks, and they all had answered "I'm here to ask YOU a few questions, I'm sorry but I can not share anything personal with my patients."
Blake hoped this one was different, at least until now, he didn't call her "his patient" yet, and that was something different already.
"Sure, what have you got up your sleeve?" Dr. Quentin asked while he crossed his right leg over the left. He seemed interested.
"What kind of tv shows do you watch?" It was a stupid question, but Blake wanted to fill the silence with conversation until the session ended. Also, she wanted to ask something that she knew that if he asked her back, that she could talk about it for hours.
"That's an interesting question, I enjoy watching Game of thrones, and I hate The walking dead. I watch Empire and The man on the high castle. I also watch The Simpsons and Modern Family, but only when I'm stressed. Is that all?" He said it with such simplicity, as if she wouldn't have any questions about it, but Blake always had questions, and she was here to be listened to, so she will ask, even if the questions were stupid and out of context. Here she didn't have to think twice about everything she had to say, not like out there.
