Spirit_Saotome: So I'm starting up a volleyball group. I'm a setter, one of my friends is a spiker. We're working with each other BUT we would like to find a libero. Any tips on finding one?
Admin: First of all, yaaaaay for volleyball. I love volleyball.
Noya: ME TOOOOOO
Admin: I know, Noya. Anyway, that aside, you really don't need a libero. What you need is a good passer. Once you have...
Noya: *crying in the distance*
Admin: Once you-

Admin: ONCE YOU-
Noya: *wailing*
Admin: OKAY WHAT THE HECK JUST SAY IT NOYA STOP BEING SUCH A CHILD JEEZ
Noya: *crying* How dare you say you don't need a libero????!!!
Admin: Well, I mean, I love a good libero, I play the position myself. But really, if all your hitters can pass well enough and can be really good at defense, you don't need to have a libero.
Noya: But they're supposed to be the best passer on the team!!!
Admin: Exactly! Once you find out who the best defender is, you can appoint them the position as a libero. If all your players are pretty much well rounded in everything and you don't have an outstanding defender, then you don't need a libero. The purpose of a libero is to stand in the place of another player in the back row. They're not officially put in the lineup, they're put in as a libero which is a substitute player. However, I do believe the defenders in the back row are a key part to volleyball, making the libero one of the most recognizable players on the court.
Noya: Yeah! If I were as good at hitting as I am receiving, I would probably not have become a libero... though I would have asked 'cuz liberos are the coolest.
Admin: I agree. Anyway, to wrap it up, you don't need to find someone to be your libero specifically. Just keep finding other players, and once you find out who is significantly the best at receiving, then you can consider them a libero. Hope that answers your question!! Good luck with finding more players! Byeeeee
Noya: BYEEEEEEEEEEEEE
