New Girl// Tanner Braungardt Fanfiction.

Lunch time-

"Okay guys, class dismissed" mr Allizerd shouted over all the chatter of the young teens,

"Hey Scarlett! Do you wanna sit next to me at lunch?" A small girl asked me, she had brown long hair and lovely blue eyes.

"That would be awesome! I know absolutely nobody so thank you for asking. Sorry, I didn't catch your name?" I replied to the short girls question

"My name is Mia, and these are my friends Ashley, Lilly and Ava" Mia answered my question as we walked over to the table they were all sat.

"Eww who's this?" A girl at the table asked

"Ermm, I'm Scarlett. You are?" I returned the question

"I'm not a person who likes new people to just barge into a table already full with people who don't need anymore fake friends" the girl who I think was called Ashley smiled a fake smile at me.

"Well actually, Mia asked me but, if it's that much of a hassle I'll just go sit by Tanner and his friends." I couldn't be bothered to get into an argument on the first day of school.

"As if Tanner would let you sit next to him" Ashley laughed. I just smiled and walked over to the table Tanner was sitting on.

"Hey Tanner mind if I sit here?" I made sure tanner was okay with me sitting next to him,

"Of course!" Tanner answered, I smiled and sat down.

Tanner put his arm round me "Guys this is Scarlett, she's new so be nice. We are also neighbours and we met this morning." Tanner introduced me to everyone.

"Scarlett this is: Quentin, Dylan, Tanner, Brittany, Jess and Katie" As tanner talked me through everyone's names I realised that the three girls sitting next to me were all wearing cheerleading outfits.

I quickly looked back at Ashley whilst Tanner had his arm around me. She had a look of shock mixed with sadness. I guess she had a crush on him or something.

Once I remembered the girls next to me did cheerleading I excitedly squeaked " OMG, are you guys in the cheerleading squad?!"

"Yeah! Are you thinking about trying out?" Brittany, the one closest to me, asked

"Yes!! I used to do cheerleading outside of school In England because they never did it in school so I'm so excited to see if I can get in!" I answered Brittany's question and all three girls smiled at me.

"Well tryouts are after school today! You should totally come along, Tanner and some other guys we're gonna come and watch so I'm sure Tanner could give you a lift home!" Katie informed me,

"That would be so cool! Is it okay for you to give me a lift home Tanner?" I asked him politely

"Of course! I'm heading that way anyway" Tanner smiled down at me

"Thanks Tanner! Your the best!!" I smiled back up at him in return.

The routine was fairly simple, it consisted of two complex lifts, three standard lifts, three flips and a dance and school chant all to a popular upbeat song.
What is going to happen is the first person to stop dancing or an obvious choice not to be on the squad will be picked and put into a separate group.
The naturally good people will be picked out and put into another separate group.
The remaining people would be put into pairs at similar abilities and the better person would be chosen to join the other group.
The last time I did cheer was in year 8 and I'm now in grade 11 so here's hoping that I remember everything your supposed to do.
The song started and I lasted the whole song.
We started out with about 40 girls to choose from and we were now down to 34.
The song played again and a further 4 people were taken out.
The song kept repeating until we were down to the last 5 people.
There was only two available spaces on the cheer squad so we all had to battle it out.
The song played again and I attempted to do a double front, I landed perfectly not even missing a beat or moving a foot. The crowd cheered as I landed and I smiled.
It was now down to the last two people. Me and Ashley, the one who was being a bitch to me at lunch.
There is one space available and I know who's it is gonna be.
It got to the flip and I landed my double front for the second time in a row, she landed a single but as she landed she stumbled and fell over.
"Congratulations Scarlett! You have beaten Ashley! You now have the second and final place on the cheer squad!" Brittany beamed as she spoke into the megaphone.
I smiled happily and looked over at Ashley. Well that's a good case of karma if I've ever seen one.
"This isn't over, even though your hanging out with the popular people in school and your friends with tanner braungardt and now your on the cheerleading squad all in your first day it doesn't mean you can steal my boyfriend away from me." Ashley looked mega angry and her head was almost as red as a tomato.
I just laughed it off as she walked away.

"You did amazing! I didn't know you could flip like that!" Tanner ran over to me and put his arm around me for the second time today.

"Thanks, I haven't done a double in like 5 years" I laughed it off but tanner looked shocked.

"So you're telling me that you haven't done a double in five years however you just managed to land it perfectly? Not one foot out of place? Two times in a row?!" Tanner literally had his mouth wide open

I laughed at him and simply replied with "I guess"

"Hey how comes Ashley was giving you death glares all through that try out and then was yelling at you?" Tanner asked

"I really don't know, at lunch Mia asked if I wanted to sit with her and her friends so I agreed but then Ashley started shouting at me because I apparently wasn't welcome even though Mia invited me. So I was like whatever I'm gonna go sit next to tanner and she was all like as if Tanner braungardt would let YOU sit next to him and she was like laughing and stuff and just being a bitch and then today at tryouts she was really annoyed because I made it on the team and she didn't and apparently I'm stealing her boyfriend? I don't know she's just weird" I told Tanner everything and he laughed at most of it

"Basically Ashley has a massive crush on me and she gets jealous every time I talk to a girl, it's really annoying and I really don't like her" tanner informed me.

I laughed as we pulled into my drive.

"Thanks for the lift home tanner, I really appreciate it." I hugged tanner and we said our goodbyes.
