First Day in Hell
The girl's surroundings were hot, misty, and airy. The sky was red, and the entire place was the definition of destruction. The air was hot, bothering and somewhat cold even though it was supposed to be the hottest place ever.
The girl was splattered out in the middle of the paved road. It was odd that there even was a road in the middle of the Underworld. But what scared her even more, was that nothing was familiar to her and that she didn't know how she got there.
She slowly stood up. She gasped in fear as she suddenly saw a man in front of her, in a suit, and with a suspicious smile.
"Welcome to Hell, Raine." He said, and the girl looked around.
She looked back to the man and gave a small whimper of fear, one she figured he didn't hear. But he did.
"Don't be afraid, darling. My name is Hades, the god and ruler of the Underworld." He said. Raine had a suspicious look as she eyed him, but to prove his point, he snapped his fingers, and his hair turned into bright blue flames. The young girl screamed loudly and fell back onto her back. Her brown eyes were fearful as she gasped for air.
"Please, don't hurt me!" She pleaded, but it only caused the man to let out a loud, booming laugh.
"Hurt you? Darling, dear sweet child, you're dead. Any harm that comes your way is pointless now." He sassed and took a deep satisfied breath.
"I'm dead?" The girl suddenly questioned. She looked down at herself. She didn't feel dead. Nor looked it, as a matter of fact. She went as far as to poke herself. Hades watched her and tilted his head.
"Believe it. And stop poking yourself."
Raine looked up and sheepishly put her hand away from her stomach. She took the chance to look over herself. She was wearing her somewhat dirty dress. It was a black dress with golden ropes wrapped around my waist. The sleeves were wide and long, and so was the bottom of her dress. She had on normal black flats but were covered by her dress, for it was floor length. Her dark brown, curly hair was in a pretty fancy bun, and she had no idea where she had come from.
"What do you remember, love?" Hades suddenly asked. He had just watched her look at herself in complete confusion, and it hit him that the young girl didn't remember anything about her past life.
"I don't seem to recall anything, sir." She responded and Hades took a step back. He couldn't remember the time when someone had lost their memory on their way to the Underworld, but he did remember something about those particular. Those who did lose knowledge of their past life lost the memories for a reason.
They had done something, really, really bad.
And for once it frightened Hades.
For who could have done something so awful, at such a young age?

Raine looked at the god before her and waited patiently for his instructions. He dazed off for a moment, until then he finally seemed to return to his senses, and turned to Raine with a hesitant smile.
"Follow me, darling." He simply said, and Raine did.
As Hades led Raine through town, she noticed that there were more people besides Hades and herself. Many people were around, and they did stare at Raine and Hades as they walked silently down the single road. Raine nearly screamed when she saw a weird horseless carriage race down the road she was on. Hades immediately grabbed her and quickly shoved her to the side, to prevent any harm to her, even though it was useless. Raine peered at the weird carriage and watched as someone got out of it. It was a horrible looking woman, with a long furry black and white coat, and an intimidating look.
"Sorry about that, darling, though it was obvious to move out of the way when you see a car racing towards you, dead or alive, it's just the logical thing to do." The women said, and Hades gave a chuckle.
"Cruella, this is Raine, the newest addition to join us down here." He said with a small smirk. Cruella peered down at the child and raised an eyebrow. She slammed the door to the car and walked around Raine once, examining her. Once Cruella was in front of Hades and Raine again, she turned to the amused looking god.
"She's only a child." She spat out, and Hades crooked his face.
"Your point?"
"Why are you keeping a child here?! Give the dame some mercy, you worthless scoundrel." Cruella spat out and Hades let out a loud, mocking laugh.
"Everyone's here for a reason, De Vil, the faster you accept it, the faster you'll get out of here," Hades said. He looked at Cruella some more before speaking again.
"And why exactly do you care about the girl who just arrived, De Vil?" he questioned, but the women didn't respond.
"Have a nice day, darlings." Cruella De Vil said one last time before she got into her vehicle again and sped off. Raine turned towards Hades before speaking.
"What was that thing, sir?" She asked and Hades glanced down at the pretty girl with the huge brown eyes.
"That, my dear, is a car." He said simply, and Raine looked confused as she continued to follow Hades like a lost puppy.
"A car?" She pressed on and Hades nodded, as they both headed towards a building.
"Yes, a car. I guess you could see it as a carriage that drives by itself. They have those everywhere in the Land Without Magic." He informed and Raine's head suddenly perked up.
"The Land Without Magic?" She continued and Hades groaned silently.
"So many questions in such little time. Careful, darling, I'm not one to mess around with." Hades said and Raine glanced up at the building they had stopped at. It was strange looking. In fact, the entire town was strange looking to her, not to mention what the other people were wearing.
When Hades opened the door, Raine expected her to follow him in. But he stopped her before she could get anywhere, and looked down at the confused girl.
"This is where we part, love. Enjoy the time you have here, don't get into too much trouble, and socialize. If you need anything, Raine, I'll be right here." He said and gestured towards a weird looking door that was to Raine's left. Raine nodded slowly and stepped away. Just as Hades was about to leave, Raine stopped him.
"Where am I supposed to go?" Raine questioned. Hades glanced around before his eyes landed somewhere. He pointed to it and Raine looked at the quaint little place, just across the street.
"I suggest the Underbrooke Diner. Open morning, noon, and night." He said.
And with one last wink, Hades disappeared.
And Raine was left alone to fend for herself on her first day in Hell.
