Jericho, California

Danny paused for a moment, fiddling with the large silver ring with a large sapphire jewel embedded in it that rested on his right middle finger. His fists clenched lightly, his expression darkening ever-so-slightly before he glanced up at his brothers, who were looking at him with curious expressions. Danny took a deep, calming breath, closing his eyes as he did so. When he opened them, his face carefully blank, void of any sort of emotion.

"The story begins centuries ago, with my ancestors on my mother's side, a curse that was placed upon them, and an ancient necklace," Danny began, pulling out a necklace from beneath his black v-neck.

The pendant was attached to a simple black string, though the pendant itself was anything but simple. It was a circle, and within it lay two black wolf heads, one facing to the left, the other to the right, in the shape of a cross. Sapphires poked out from where the eyes were supposed to be, and an 'x' shape crossed beneath them, poking out from the edges of the circle.

Danny allowed his brothers a moment to observe the pendant, before replacing it back into his shirt, continuing, "They were once known as the Romanov family, a very old, very powerful family of skinwalkers-"

"So you are a monster? Wait, you said you weren't a skinwalker-" Dean began furiously.

"Bitch, don't interrupt me. I hate it when people do that, it's fucking rude. If you'll let me continue, you'll know everything you have to, alright?" Danny snapped, eyes narrowing slightly as he glared at his younger brother.

Sammy cleared his throat, nudging Dean who then mumbled a half-hearted apology. Sam then nodded at Danny, gesturing with a hand for him to continue his story.

Danny sighed, his face becoming blank once more as he continued his story, "Along with being skinwalkers, the Romanov family was also cursed with a sort of sixth sense. We could see beyond the veil, all the ghosts and demons too scared to cross over. Even worse, they could see us."

Danny paused, frowning slightly as he glanced out the window before continuing, "It starts at a young age. Nightmares that feel like reality, terror every waking moment. A fear that they could get you at any moment, use you to cross over into the world of the living....it would drive any kid insane...Along with this oh-so-fun gift comes some level precognition. Mainly in relation to family or demons, but not entirely limited to it."

There was silence, then Dean slowly said, "So, what? You're some psychic skinwalker? Dude, that's nuts."

Danny gave a small grimace and a shrug, saying, "I've never really done the whole skinwalking thing. I mainly reserve it for emergencies, so there's no reason to freak out about me wolfing out on you or something. I'll be a good boy....ish."

Dean and Sam shared a look, having an entire conversation with their eyes alone. Danny shifted lightly, slightly uncomfortable with the weird way his brothers were looking at each other. It was slightly disturbing, really.

After a moment, Sam look at him, asking, "Is that all?"

"That's all I'm willing to share, at the moment. Some things I'd rather keep to myself, though. We all have our secrets, Samantha. Let me keep mine for a bit longer," Danny replied with a small smile.

The younger brothers shared another look. They had no reason to distrust Danny, he had, after all, saved their life a couple times throughout the years they spent with their father. Despite the fact that he was a monster, he was family, right? They would give him the benefit of the doubt, for now.

Outside Grand Junction

Sam jerked awake, blinking and rubbing his eyes as Foreigner's "Hot-Blooded" played in the background. Danny's eyes flicked over to him briefly before he resumed staring out the window, lost in thought. Meanwhile, Dean looked at his younger brother, concern written all over his face.
