The Girl Who Caught Feelings

Blake's pov

"You have got to be kidding me!!" I said while reading the message again. Sun broke up with me because he had found "someone else" when we all know it's Neptune. Everytime we would hang out, he would invite Neptune because he trusted him with our relationship.

"What's wrong?" I turned and saw my best friend, Ruby, sitting with her girlfriend, Wiess. I groaned and threw my phone on the table. "It's official, he's going for Neptune!" I yelled catching the attention of the people around us.

She chuckled, "we all knew it was gonna happen Blake. He's not worth it" she said. I sighed, running my hand through my hair and nodding. "Yeah I know. I just...I thought we would last" Ruby nodded and smiled.

"It's okay Blake, I think we should celebrate!" she said looking at Wiess. The white haired girl chuckled and shook her head. "Last time we 'celebrated', you thought it would be okay to drink" Wiess said with a pout.

"I said I was sorry babe!!" Ruby yelled out giving her lover a hug. I laughed at her silliness. "Hey Blake, here's your coffee" I looked up and saw my cousin, Velvet. I smiled and took my coffee from her. "Thanks Vel, I really need it" she raised a brow.

"What'd he do now?" Velvet asked. This is one of the reasons I loved Velvet! There are times she was shy, and emotional, but then there are times she's ready to beat the shit out of someone. I laughed as I answered, "he broke up with me" I said as I sat back in my chair.

Her bunny ear twitched as I said this and anger flashes through her eyes. "Why I outta-" before she could finish, Coco came over and lifted her up bridal style. "You outta get your cute little cotton tail back in the kitchen and brew some more coffee!" she said as she carried my cousin back to the kitchen.

I always come to this cafe to either think or talk to one of the staff members here. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I come here with Ruby and Wiess. Sometimes we invite Juane, Nora, Pyrrah, and Ren but that's only when they're free. Tuesday's, Thursday's, and Saturday's I go to my secret place, which happens to be Forever Forest.

"So have you thought about who to invite?" I turned my attention back towards Wiess and Ruby's conversation. "Well yeah! I just have about..." she used her fingers to count off people. "...15 people" she said with a smile. "Ruby, going to be your sixteenth birthday and you only have 15 people?" Wiess asked.

Ruby thought for a second then smiled with a nod. "Yeah I don't need that much people! And besides, I bet Nora's gonna invite some more people. Oh! And then there's Yang, I guarantee she's bringing people with her" Ruby said as her smile grew.

"Is she bringing her 'friends' with her?" Wiess asked as she cringed. Ruby's smile faded but then grew back. "No, Neo isn't with Yang anymore and I doubt she'll invite Cinder" I stared at them trying to figure out what they're talking about.

Ruby looked to me and smiled. "You never met my sister have you?" she asked as she wrapped her arm around Wiess's waist. I shook my head, "I don't believe I have". She nodded and handed me a paper. "I'll be having a party on Friday and I want you to come!" she beamed.

I looked at the invitation then at her and smiled. "I'll see if I can get a ride" I said. "Great!! Well, I've gotta go. Dad is going to be piss-i mean mad" she said as she looked at Wiess and blushed. Wiess has this big thing about bad words. I find it hilarious.

"Yeah, I've gotta go too. Adam's gonna start worrying" I said as we all stood. I checked the time on my phone and saw it was 4:25pm. I sighed and said goodbye to my friends and cousin then left.

I waited outside the cafe for Adam to come pick me up but he didn't show. He didn't even answer his phone. Strange. I decided to walk home since it was only about five miles away.

The sun went down and the street lights turned on. I wonder why Adam didn't answer? He always answers when I call. What is he up to? I was caught up in my thoughts until I heard noises coming from an alleyway up ahead.

I slowed my pace as I walked by the alley and saw that there were three men surrounding someone. I stood and watched as one of the men punched the person they were cornering. "Where's my money Long?" he asked in a menacing voice.

He took a step back as a body fell to the floor. When the person got up, I saw a flash of yellow then suddenly, the guy was on the ground. The two other guys were as shocked as me when they saw their leader on the ground. I looked up at the person who did this and saw it was a girl around my age with yellow hair, black skinny jeans, a yellow shirt with a jacket over it, along with fingerless gloves.

"You still want to know where your money is?" she asked while whipping away the blood dropping from her nose. The other two ran out the alley and away from the scene as the girl looked up. My feet froze as the men ran past me and I caught her gaze.

Her eyes. They were red. My breath hitched when she smirked devilishly and stepped more into the shadows. When she was fully away from the light, I took off in a sprint towards my house.

I ran up the front steps and through the door, throwing down my back pack on the way up to my room. I opened the door to my room and turned on the light to see a note from Adam.

Blake,

I'm visiting some friends down in Cali and won't be back until Friday. I heard Ruby's having a party, tell her I can't make it but that I said happy birthday. Also don't do anything stupid when I'm gone! I don't need my sister having a baby at the age of 17! Love you!

I groaned and rolled my eyes. Whenever he goes to visit his friends, he takes his car and always says he needs to focus on the road so that he can get there faster. I kicked my shoes off and jumped on my bed.

What happened back at that alleyway? What were those guys doing to her? Why were they doing it to her? Who was she? Why did she seem so familiar?

My mind was racing with questions and soon, my eyelids fell heavy. I closed my eyes and fell asleep with one thought on my mind.

Who was that mysterious girl?
