The Last Ninja

Chapter 11 The Grand Quest

As the fire birds took Mamoru and Maddison into the city all of the phoenixians looked at them with confusion and hatred in their eyes. There were buildings on top of buildings and a slide with crates going back and forth delivering mail, there were lots of torches around and it was unusually hot. When they reached the palace that was made from red sandstone heated to a substance harder than steel, there were great big bowls of fire on either side of the stairway. The air grew hotter as we entered the palace to meet the Phoenix King.

 The leader of the fire birds (the inferno bird or inferness) greeted us with an unpleasant expression of hate,his red suit glowed in the flames light and his gauntlets were made of a steel and gold mixture. The king though looked instead  of angry (like everyone else in the kingdom) he looked worried with a sliver of sadness in his eyes. Maddison being the kind heart that she is asked him "are you alright your majesty" just then, inferness lifted his hand to slap her  while yelling " DO NOT TALK OUT OF TURN, YOU OUTSIDER!!!". As his hand came swooping down at her face, then it suddenly stopped, " If You Touch Her" Mamoru had stopped his hand from hitting her by grabbing it, Mamoru exclaimed with what sounded like the devil in his tone "I'LL KILL YOU !!!"! Mamoru squeezed tight on his hand in which he had caught the slap, looked up at Inferness with a fire in his eyes hotter than than the sun itself. Inferness had realized that Mamoru broke through the ropes which  held him captive, his face turn pale "is he really that strong!"he thought to himself. Then all the other ninjas came to protect there leader, Mamoru glanced over at them, and in an instant they all fell dead to the floor! Mamoru had just killed them faster than even he could see, but Inferness got over to Maddison and grabbed her wrists still tied but, he had suddenly stopped because Mamoru had a Knife to his throat. "I told you if you touch her " said Mamoru with death itself in his voice "I'D KILL YOU" the fire in Mamoru's eyes grew into a fire of pitch black, Inferness's face grew pale! "STOP"  a scream  came crying out in side the palace everyone looked towards Maddison but behind her came out a little girl with tears streaming from her eyes "DON'T YOU HURT MY DADDY!!!". Just then the fire dissipated that was once in Mamoru's eyes as he had a flash back.

 There's fire everywhere burnt and/or burning down houses "DON'T HURT MY DADDY" comes a cry From young Mamoru as the Evil Samurai Doragon has his sword to Mamoru's Dad , Mamarosu, throat. " There Is No Mercy" exclaims Doragon as his sword goes strait through Mamarosu's throat blood splatters all over Mamoru's face as his dad's head falls to the ground "DADDY!!!" screams Mamoru. Doragon turns to Mamoru and says "No Witnesses" then the sensei and all his ninja come and try take down Doragon. Mamoru runs over to his father's body and vows "No matter what I will avenge my father and Kill Doragon. As the flash back ends Mamoru drops his weapon and falls to his knees, Inferness goes picks up his daughter and runs out of the palace. As Mamoru lies on the floor on his knees Maddison walks over get's on her knees to talk to him she gently lifts his chin to face her, as she softly speaks "thank you for saving me there, and you did the right thing letting him go home to his family, I'm proud of you." she says as she gets closer and kisses him, for the first time on the lips he's been kissed, and for the very first time he feels truly loved. All of his sadness melts away as he kisses her back,he helps her up as they walk out of the palace holding hands. "Wait" commands the phoenix king "I have seen your great skill and would like you to go on a grand quest for me" "not, interested" reply's Mamoru as he and Maddison keep walking out the door, then the king lifts his hand creating fire in front of the door "your answer now?" asks the king with a smirk Mamoru knowing he won't stop until they agree asks "okay, what do we have to do?!"
