"Maci! Lord come on already we need to leave!" I swear I don't take that long to get ready but my boyfriend Kyle here thinks I do.
"I'm coming, Kyle who is going to be there anyways?" We are going to celebrate my graduation and I couldn't be more thrilled. I walk out to find Kyle texting. He is always on that damn thing. "I'm ready babe let's go!" I say doing a little turn to show off my outfit. Of course Kyle smiles.
As we arrive at 'Tony's Bar', I automatically see our friends. We say our hellos and the drinks start coming in. I'm having a great time talking to my best friend Rachel, when I start to feel sick to my stomach thinking I really shouldn't have had that last shot. I look around for Kyle but don't see him.
A trip to the restroom, the bar to get some water and still no sign of Kyle. Maybe he is out smoking with guys. As I walk out sure enough there they all are. I smile as I love watching my friends interact. My smile fades as my stomach says I drank too much.
"Kyle babe I really need to go home I don't feel well." I looked around and everyone was having fun.
"Maci why don't you just sit down for a while I'm not ready to go, John and I are talking about the upcoming business we have coming in."
What the hell, Kyle is never like this. He must have drank too much too. I shook my head which was the worst thing I could do. As Kyle went back to talking I looked around. I didn't want to ask anyone to take me home as they were all having too much fun.
"Babe I think I'm going to head home, I just really need to get into bed."
"Okay fine text me to let me know you got there okay." I'm stunned what is going on with him. He is usually so caring.
I kiss his cheek and say bye to the others. I should have stayed because as I started walking I got a bad feeling that I was being followed. The walk itself wasn't that far only a block to our apartment.
As I was about to turn the corner when I heard voices. "Well look what we have here mate! What's a pretty girl like you walking this late at night alone?"
I just kept walking when I felt some one grab me. "What the hell, let me go?" They laughed. There was only two of them but I knew I couldn't do much to them. I knew something bad was about to happen. I just didn't know how badly.
"Hey mate I think she needs to be taught a lesson if she thinks she can talk to us like that." He laughed and pulled me closer. "I could use a little fun tonight, what about you?"
"I'm always up for some fun!" The other guy said as they started pulling me into the alley. This is where everything starts to blur.
I feel hands everywhere on my body as the tears pour from my eyes. I remember trying to yell and fight them. It was no use as they would hit me to the point of blacking out. My last thought before I completely fell into the darkness was 'please don't let me die like this'.
I heard lots of beeping. I couldn't tell where it was coming from or why. I opened my eyes to a white room. I was in the hospital and all the events of last night came rushing back. The pain of the reality sunk in.
After talking to the police and hearing what the doctor confirmed, I was able to call Kyle. As I said before I didn't know just how bad that night would end. How much that night would change everything in the future? How my world would get flipped upside down. How I would get burned.
