Emily's POV
Seven years earlier~
On a summer evening.
I was ten, sitting on the couch watching 'Sesame Street' waiting for my friends to come. Yes, I know I was to old for it, but it's was that or the boring weather channel.
We've moved from Houston to California. It's only been two weeks, and some of our stuff is still in boxes.
That's when the doorbell rings.
I ran to the door pulling it open, thinking that it was Sophie and Rachel, my two new friends.
But there was no Sophie, nor Rachel. Just a cute boy, with dark brown hair and deep blue eyes. So deep that it feels like you're drowning in the Pacific Ocean.
I realized that I've been standing there, staring at him, for five whole seconds before either of us talked.
He smiles, "Is Logan here? I'm suppose to meet him, so we can play this video game." He says, lifting up the game in his hand.
I don't reply, standing there like a stupid, flushed, goofball.
My brother comes out from the kitchen, "Hey Carter, come this way so we can get the game started up. Oh, seems as if you've already met my little sis?"
Logan, my brother, is a year older than me, but we're as close as siblings can get, maybe even closer, maybe even too close for comfort...
"Emily." I say blushing, extending my hand to shake his.
He extends his own, taking me up on the offer
"Carter. Your brothers new best friend." He replies as his hand wraps around mine.
His hands are warm... and kinda clammy...
Or is that me?He lets go.
"See you around, Emily."
I watched as he disappears into the living
room following my brother. At that moment, I knew... I fell for my brothers best friend.
