Before this work begins, there's a few things that I'll need to point out.

Disclaimer Statement
Although the writing in its entirety is completely my own, I do not own any of the following, nor ever lay claim to them; the Dishonored characters and franchise in its entirety, the cover art and all images it uses, or the rights to the computer game itself. Any references to items and people are fictitious and any similarity to people, items and property in real life is pure coincidence.

About This Work in General
Before you start, it should be noted that this is a full, proper work that's intended to be a novel. So in short, it's approaching 100,000 words and has very long chapters. It's a serious work, and everything has a time and place. It'll definitely keep you busy for a while! Not only that, it will be rated Mature. This is due to several instances of sexual activity, including scenes involving same-sex encounters as well as multi-person encounters. There are also some moments of descriptive horror and injury, and all of this may be disturbing to the younger reader. Look at your own risk.

About the World
For those of you who don't know about Dishonored, this section will cover a few of the basics. It's a computer game that I first bought on the Xbox 360, and has recently been remastered for the Xbox One. It's mainly a stealth/action hybrid game, set in a world where old-style values and buildings collide sharply with almost nightmarish-looking robots and Steampunk elements. The main focus of the game involves tracking down the killer of Dunwall's Empress and abductor of her only child, Emily. I won't spoil the plot here, but there are spoilers contained within the novel itself as they're crucial to the story.
And speaking of that...

About the Plot and Characters
This work is set after the events of the main game as well as after all of the DLC content. The plague still continues to cast a shadow over the city, and people are still dying from it. As far as characterisations go, they generally hold true to the game but with quite a few differences. Corvo Attano here is placed at roughly mid-thirties in age, and under a relatively low chaos setting. He's not above a bit of thievery or murder, but greatly prefers to stick on the right side of the law. He's dependable, kind, courageous and sincere.
Daud has been portrayed here as being somewhat younger than his game character; in this work, he's mid to late-twenties. He's rather more vivacious than Corvo, and has a wicked and filthy sense of humour, a fondness for larceny, rather questionable morals but, does generally stay more on the good side of things.
Elaine Havisham is entirely created by me- she's not in the game at all. I've cast her as roughly thirty years old. She's very articulate, a bit of a perfectionist with a great deal of curiosity, which led her to become interested in arcane matters as well as Science. She's emotionally very sensitive and can wear her heart on her sleeve a bit much at times, but she's unswervingly loyal and very loving. Emily Kaldwin is here too, ten years old in this work. While she's prone to many moments of typical childishness and innocent questions, she's also very intelligent and very astute. She's fairly broad-minded, and has a strong sense of justice. And lastly, the final main character is the enigmatic Outsider. His real age is unknown, of course, but in this work his physical body looks to be somewhere between late twenties and early thirties. He keeps the moral stance that he generally does in the game; he's slightly aloof, unimpressed with humans in general and refuses to stand for good or evil. Mostly, he prefers to watch the goings-on in the world while learning about it at the same time.

That's about everything I wanted to say here. I hope that you enjoy this epic tale. It took me roughly two months to write (which I did separately on a phone app called Glyphic, I'd highly recommend it), and I was determined to make a cover and get it all published before Christmas fell upon us.
And yes, a sequel is on the way right now!
Happy Reading. xox
