Tessa was sitting in her room strumming her ukulele when Jessica walked in.

"Let's start a band." She said out of nowhere.

"I can't." Tessa whispered back.

"Why are you whispering? I can't hear you."

"I can't!" Tessa yelled in return.

Jessica shook her head as she paced the room.

"You can sing and play the guitar or ukulele and I will play the drums. If we need a bass or something, we will figure that out later."

"I can't sing in front of all those people." Tessa was getting nervous just thinking about performing in front of an audience.

"Come on Tessa. Take a chance!"

_

The next day at school, Liam sat at his normal table. He felt like something off so he got up and walked outside, where Tessa was sitting. She was reading her book with her glasses slightly falling down her nose. Liam smiled as she pushed them pack up and scrunched her nose.

"Hey." Tessa looked at him with big eyes.

"I can't do this Liam. My brothers would be mad at me."

"So?"

"I promised and I never break my promises." Tessa grabbed her stuff and walked away to another spot where she hoped he wouldn't follow her.

"Tessa!" He ran to her and pulled her arm so she would face him.

"Liam-"

"Why can't we be friends? That's all we were anyways." Tessa felt as though her heart was ripped in half. She had feelings for him but he never felt the same back apparently.

"I don't think we ever should have been." Liam called after her but Tessa kept walking.

_

Jessica swung as the ball came flying at her. Of course she nailed it. When she turned to grab her bag before leaving, she saw Liam kissing a girl with blonde hair.

I honestly thought he was changing because of Tessa but she was just another toy he enjoyed playing around with. Jessica thought to herself

"Get a room!" Jessica yelled.

Liam's face went white. Jessica grabbed her bag and slammed the car door forcefully. You could see she was upset by the way she threw her bag at the back seat. When it hit the back seat, her bat flew out of it and the car shook.

She pulls into the drive way, blasting her music, and waits for Liam. She heard tapping on the window and saw him staring at her, dripping with sweat.

"You were supposed to wait for me" He said

"I thought your girlfriend was driving you" She said in an angry tone

"Jess-"

"You're so dumb! You had the perfect girl and you fucking blew it!" Jessica yells

"She doesn't want me!" He yells back

"How do you know? She likes you Liam, you just can't see it! It was right in front of your face, and you missed it!" Jessica yells

"I tried okay!"

"Try harder next time"

"You know what? You don't know me, you think your the only one with problems? I need Tessa, but she doesn't need me, can't you see it! I'm trying, I really am!"

"This is what happens when I try to help people" She whispers to herself

"What did you say?"

"Why do I even try anymore! I have nothing to live for Liam, everyone knows what they want to be! I have no idea what I'm doing after high school, what's the point..." She says while getting more quiet as she speaks. She turns around and runs up to her room. She goes to her desk and grabs her anti-depressants. She throws them across the room causing the bottle to open. All the pills fly everywhere. Jessica falls onto her knees and starts crying.

I have no real friends, my family hates me, what's the point anymore. She thinks to herself.

-----

The shower sprayed water down on Tessa as she sat in the tub crying. Ever since she met Liam, her world was on a constant rollercoaster and now it was spinning out of control on the edge of breaking. She cried because she knew she should've just tested the water but now she was in too deep, drowning in rejection.

"My life was fine before. I was going to get into any school I wanted too! I would've been successful in life but now everything is ruined. Everything is ruined because of Liam." She screamed.

She wasn't worried about anyone hearing her because her parents weren't home and her brothers left to go back to college.

Tessa got dressed and curled up in a ball on her bed.

"Hey Tessa, I have some bad news." Jessica walked into her room.

"Ok, just spit it out and I can take it."

"I saw Liam making out with another girl. I wanted you to know that so you can move on to someone better."

Tessa's eyes started to water and she covered herself in her comforter. Jessica sat on the edge of the bed and tried to make Tessa feel better but Tessa's heart was broken.

"It never stops hurting, does it?" She eventually choked out.

Jessica stayed silent because she didn't want to say the wrong thing.

"Giving someone the best of you and watching them choose someone else." Tessa whispered and started crying again.
