"So back to high school we go." Seth states and I giggle. "I never thought I'd have to hear that." I respond as we sit in the parking lot of some random school in Alaska. "Do we have to go?" Emily asks from her car seat in the back and I nod. "It's the best way to blend in." I tell her. "Now, let's go over the story. Jaden?" Seth asks. "You and Mommy are twins and our big brother and sister." She states. "Good! John?" I say and give Jaden a high five. "Jadey and me are the next oldest, Max and Emily are one year under us." He announces and smiles proudly. "Fantastic Job! Max?" Seth praises him softly. "Hope and Spencer are in kindergarten, Olive is in preschool." He says robotically, going through what we have spent the past week drilling into our children's minds. "Okay and Spencer, take us home!" I encourage. "The babies stay home with our mommy who is really the nanny that real mommy compelled." She grins and we all laugh. "Good Job baby. Let's go in, we're going to be late." Seth reminds me and I nod. We spent a week doing nothing but planning for this day. I wanted to keep all of the kids at home but Seth reminded me of how suspicious it would be to have that many kids in a house at all times. With all of us in school, it will seem like we are a normal family. "Mommy, can we go?" Hope asks, taking me out of my trance. "Yes! Everyone has their back packs?" I ask. All seven heads nod and I kiss them quickly before anyone notices. "Alright, Emily, John, Jaden and Max, daddy will take you to class and I will take the little girls." I review for what seems like the hundredth time. "And after school we will meet back here and go out. I know it's weird to start school on a Friday, but we figured it would be the day that everyone is most accepting." Seth says, finishing off the speech. We hold hands to cross the street and then separate into our paths. "Lexi, are we almost there?" Olive asks, falling into her role. "Almost! Don't worry, you'll have fun here." I say lightly and look at my baby girls' smiling faces, though I know that they are nervous. After a short walk though a very brightly decorated hallway, we arrive at the preschool room. "Hi, I'm Alexa Jordan. I am dropping off my little sister Olive Jordan." I smile and the small old lady looks at me up and down as the girls hide behind me. "Welcome to school, Miss Olive. Would you like to come in and play?" The old woman ,whose badge reads Irene Goldberg, says sweetly. Olive looks at me and I nod. She shuffles her little feet through the rooms and I blow her a kiss when Irene isn't looking. "She'll be just fine. Have a good first day." Another lady encourages and I nod. "Come on girls, we've got to go." I say and tear them away from their best friend. "Lexa, I'll miss her." Spencer sniffle and I pick the twins up. "Listen to me. No matter what happens, you will always be my babies and no one can change that. Even if we have to pretend for a while, okay?" I sooth and they nod. I carry them to their room, receiving a ton of weird looks from other teens passing by, and place them down at the door. After a short drop off and run to the high school building, I make it into my seat right next to my twin brother, with exactly one minute to spare. "How'd it go?" Seth leans over and asks. "Good, how about you." I smile. "Fantastic. A piece of cake, really. Now be quiet and try not to look too in love with me." He smirks and playfully pushes me into my seat. I roll my eyes and face the front of our very drab classroom.
The day goes by very slowly and it seems like the same people are in every one of my classes. I made friends with two girls and boy who were fascinated with the fact that I was the new girl, however all three were very involved with the one dangerous club I could think of: photography. Naturally, I had to distance myself very quickly. I found myself sitting at a lunch table with Seth about four hours later. "How is you day going?" He asks. I sigh and he rubs my hand sympathetically under the table. "I miss them too." He states and I smile. "Only one class left right? And it's trigonometry, that's easy." I say and he shakes his head in disbelief. "The fact that you think trig is easy." He chuckles. "It is! I'll just give you all of the answers." I smile and he grins at me. "Stop looking at me like that, people will think it's flowers in the attic all over again." I joke and he nods, suddenly serious. "Wha-" I start but suddenly an extremely preppy boy sits down. "Seth, my man! How's your first day going?" The boys says with a smile. "Great James. It's great." He jokes and the boy laughs. "And who is this?" James asks, making eyes at me. "That is my sister, Alexa." He says and James grins wider. "Oh back off." I say and he chuckles. "Just you wait sunshine." He starts and walks away. "Jesus Christ, you're hot when you're mad." Seth whispers and I laugh. "Yeah, yeah. I'm a real heart breaker." I smile and stand up. "Bell?" He asks and I nod. Seconds later the bell rings and we head to trig. As I said, it was very easy and an hour and a half later, we find ourselves outside of the preschool picking up the last of the bunch. "Olly! How was school?" I exclaims as she runs up to us. I pick her up and whisper in her ear, "I missed you baby girl." She giggles and playfully kisses my cheek. "Alright! Let's get home, mom's gonna want to see us." Seth says and the kids smile. I take Spencer's hand, her other interlocked with Hope's per usual. "They are all staring." Emily whispers and I laugh. "Figures." I mumble. When we finally make it outside, the traffic is insane, to the point that the cars are almost frozen as we cross the street and load up the van. "I'm hungry Mommy!" Hope voices loudly and I frown. "We're almost past traffic, then we will be home soon!" I encourage and she groans. "What if you get to choose where we go?" Seth bribes as we finally pass traffic and speed down the road. "We don't live here!" She exclaims frustrated. "I know! I heard some kids in my class talking about market square!" Jaden screams as the car stops in the driveway. "Alright! Then let's go grab our jackets and the babies and we are on are way to market square!" I grin and they cheer.
