Trip to the Hospital

"Little girl! Wake up! Wake up!" A mysterious man says shaking me.

I open my eyes slightly and cough "I don't want to go to school today" I pull the covers back over my face because my vision is blurry for some reason.

"Christ sake!" The man says under his breath and picks me up and takes me out of the house.

I get taken into the back of an Ambulance and go straight to the hospital. I fall asleep but as soon as we get to the hospital I wake up from a coughing fit. 3 people open the doors and take me into the emergency room in the hospital. I wake up in a hospital bed. I start looking around the room but my neck starts to get a sharp pain and I start to yell in pain. A nurse comes running in and looks at the machines around me. I look down at my arms and I see marks and scratches on them. The nurse then grabs my hand and looks into my eyes.

"What happened?" I ask.

"Your house was on fire last night. Someone lit it on fire. They found matches at the scene. But forget about that... How are you feeling?" The nurse grabs a seat and sits next to my bed.

I stare at her in shock a minute, but then finally words escape my mouth. "Where's my mum?" I start to raise my voice at the young lady.

She points to the left and I see curtains around a bed. "In there.. She's still asleep.." She's bluffing. I bet it's just some old man sitting there waiting to yell April fools.

I feel my eyes getting heavy and a tear slips out and slides down my cheek. The nurse notices and she puts her hand on my shoulder.

"She's fine." 

She then leaves. I start looking around the room and breathing heavily. I try to get up but it hurts, I think my skin got burnt of something? I finally get up without making a sound. I stand up but then fall almost immediately, face planting, making a loud slapping sound. I try getting up quickly but I fail. Almost every time. I stop in my path and I realise no one is coming.. surely someone heard that smack. I almost make it to the door but I then turn around and see a shadow in the curtains across the room.

As I realise it my mother I jump up and run over to her, pushing through the curtains, but only seeing my worst nightmare....
