Monica's eyes blinked open abruptly and she frighteningly looked around. She was in a small, dim-lighted room tied to a rusty brown chair. This had to be a nightmare. She racked through her brain, trying to remember what happened earlier.
"That's right," she whispered, "The party."
Her whisper echoed throughout the empty dark room, and her mind drifted back to the party as she started to remember. It was a welcome back party for Karissa's older sister Bethany. She recalled sitting at a table with two of her new friends, Nikki Monroe and Veronica Mills. They were all agreeing to sign up for cheerleading together. There was a big empty gap in remembering what happened between that moment and now.
Monica closed her eyes and sighed. She could hear trees outside rustling. Lots of trees. Was she in the middle of a forest? The wind started to howl.
NooooooooowuuuuuuNwiiiiiiiiiiheeeeeeeeeewuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.
The noise of the wind sounded eerily familiar to Nikki's name.
Wait.
That was it. Nikki. Nikki had pulled her outside so they could get some fresh air. They had wandered around the front of the house, until a black BMW had pulled up. A guy with stringy, dark hair had gotten out of the front seat with a flask of something.
Monica inhaled sharply, trying to remember what came after that but her mind went blank again. Had Nikki went and talked to the guy? Did they both? Who was the guy? Did he have anything to do with her being stuck to a chair?
Crrreaaaaak.
Monica's head spun around. A shadow of a figure was standing at the now unlocked doorway.
"Hello, Monica. I've been waiting for you."
Monica screamed and once again, everything went pitch black.
