Hyeri was in deep thought as she walked down the school corridor that led to her next lesson.
She moved the egg in a safer place that morning: in a small box, hidden in the depths of her wardrobe. It would definitely stay away from my mum's sight, she had thought.
Her staring session at the empty air broke as she heard someone call out her name."Hyeri!" She turned around to find a blonde haired girl waving at her from across the corridor. "Where are you going?! Our class is here," she pointed towards the door in front of her.
"Oh," she had completely forgotten about her surroundings.
"Hi Lisa," Hyeri greeted her friend as they walked into the crowded classroom. She scrunched her nose at the amount of noise, hating the idea of even being in the room in the first place. She sat in her seat and leaned on the table with her head nestled in her arms as Lisa sat in the seat next to hers, pulling out a notebook.
"I wonder where Mingyu is," Lisa said with a pout on her lips, turning around to her front and back in search of her crush. Hyeri rolled her eyes, so use to seeing her blabbering about the dark haired boy. He really was handsome, she admitted.
Hyeri hid her face back in her arms and thought about the weird egg.
What if it's a prank? What if there is a lizard in it? What if it's not a prank and a little chick will come out and call me mama? What if? What if?
She groaned, causing Lisa to look at her. "What's wrong?" She asked with big questioning eyes. Hyeri thought for a moment, imagining Lisa's reaction after she'd tell her about the situation. She raised her head, about to say something, when the teacher came in, causing the loud animals to shut themselves up and walk to their own seats.
Oh well, I'll think about whether I should tell her later.

She entered her house, exhausted from all the brain work used at school, and kicked off her shoes, not caring about where they landed. She lazily went up the stairs and walked towards her beloved room, dropping on her bed like a dead starfish.
She popped her eyes wide open, remembering the egg. She shot up from her bed and opened the wardrobe doors, shuffling through her clothes to reach the hidden box. She pulled the box out from the dark corner and held it firmly in her hands, staring at the dull, grey colour. She still didn't really know what to do with the egg, apart from keeping it and checking up on it every once in a while, waiting for probably nothing to happen.
She blew out a puff of air and took off the lid, breathing out a gasp as her eyes kept blinking at what she was seeing. The colour of the egg has changed. It was no longer the light shade of yellow, but green. A light hue of green. She grasped the egg with a hand, gasping again, but loudly, at what she felt. A weird sensation vibrated through her body as her thoughts gathered.
The egg was very warm. Very.
She squealed and threw the egg away as it began to crack, slowly rolling and hitting the edge of the wardrobe. She got up, her heart racing faster than any Ferrari out there, and stood frozen in her spot as she saw the egg cracked half open, allowing her to see something she never saw before.
