The familiar feeling of Jungkook's feathery weight on her palms vanished, and all Hyeri felt was a wave of electrifying energy surrounding her. Still with her eyes closed tightly, she waited for the flow of intensity to dissipate.
And ever so suddenly, silence emerged. Hyeri slowly opened her eyes, her heart running faster than her thoughts ever could, and gasped at the breathtaking sight in front of her.
A beautiful young man was standing in front of her. His dark hair and eyes were much more alluring than the soft tenebrosity of nights she'd enjoy admiring before going to bed. And oh, those beautiful shaped lips; they looked more defined than when he was a tiny fairy.
Fairy. Not a fairy anymore. He's a wizard. A wizard in jeans and sweatshirt.
She slowly stood up from the bed, watching his pink lips curl up into a smile, shooting almost painful arrows at her still dazzled heart. "Thank you," he said as he reached over to hold her hand. "You cured me."
She held her lips together in a tight line as she felt his warm lips pressing against the soft skin of her hand, sending paths of sparks all over her body.
The moment felt infinitely long before he broke the kiss and brought his other hand to touch her cheek, his thumb caressing the skin ever so slightly. "How will I ever repay you?"
His sincere eyes bored into hers, hypnotising her from her own thoughts, and without realisation, she drew closer to his face, so close that she stopped a few inches away, pulling herself away from his body.
"W-why are you being so polite? You don't need to repay me," she stuttered as she shakily tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, embarrassed of herself for what she was doing.
"...It looked like you did want me to repay you just a few seconds earlier," he smirked as he stepped towards her.
"W-," she stopped when she found herself closer to him than before. She had held him and touched him many times when he was a fairy, but that was different.
"You know, I'd do anything you-"
"No!" She pushed him away from her, her face turning bright pink from embarrassment. "You pervert! So that's your real personality."
He playfully winked at her, then smiled happily as he thought of something. "I can't wait to surprise Uncle and my sisters."

And it really was a happy surprise. Later that day, Hyeri and Jungkook walked to his house, leaving traces of their conversations and laughter along the paths. Hyeri felt more comfortable talking to him, it felt much better than whispering to a miniature creature hidden somewhere in one of her pockets.
"Ah~ I missed my favourite lollipops," Jungkook chirped as he held the dozen of colourful lollipops given by his uncle after arriving to the house.
Cheers and more hugs have been shared, leading to a big, loud banquet that made Hyeri think it was perhaps too much for just a meeting.
"We sent her off," Mr Yoon said as he took a quick sip of his red wine. "We talked to the Council officials and they called her in later. They're going to take care of her."
"Oh, well wasn't that easy?" Hyeri asked as she grabbed another plate for more room.
"Sounds like it, but it wasn't. Actually, it was. She knew why they called her, but she also knew she couldn't ignore them."
"And you're going to take care of us properly," Misun smiled at him, hope glittering her eyes.
"Of course."
During the walk back to her house, Hyeri's mind flew back to the earlier memories, how good the food of the banquet was, how they joked with each other, how Jungkook looked so cheerful and happy.
She smiled as she looked up at the clear sky. It wasn't cloudy, but the sun was hidden behind a stubborn white cloud.
It was a long and tiring run, but she had realised, it felt so exciting, that it had ended too quickly.
