It was midnight, the pitch-black sky alluring the nocturnal animals to start working on their night affairs.
Jungkook jumped on the pillow next to the one Hyeri was lying on, childishly grinning as he kept jumping on it like it was a massive mattress."One thing I like about being tiny: I can jump on pillows!" He panted as he lied on his belly like a tired smurf, his transparent wings comfortably laying on his back.
Hyeri snorted and let her mind run back to the conversation she'd had with him a while ago.
"Kookie, can you show me something?" She turned her head to the left towards him, who quizzically raised his head.
"What?"
"I don't know, show me something magical with a spell," Hyeri said excitedly.
"But they might not turn out right-"
"It doesn't matter, we'll deal with that later." Jungkook hesitated, unsure of what to do. "Just one try?" Hyeri pushed her bottom lip out.
"Fine." He sighed, defeated.
"Yay! Hm, let me see...can you...make flowers rain in this room?"
"Yeah, but with these tiny hands, I could try..." He awkwardly started wiggling his fingers as an effort to warm up for the session. He pointed his index vertically in the air and started creating small circles, making light dusk sparkle from the tip of the finger.
Hyeri started feeling excited as she stared at his finger, eagerly waiting for the impossible rain to appear.
He stopped moving his finger and stared up at the ceiling, making Hyeri imitate him.She lightly gasped as she saw little petals appear from the ceiling, slowly falling towards the floor as they danced in the air.
"Ah...they turned out to be petals," Jungkook sighed as he blew off a light pink petal that fell on his nose.
"Woahh," Hyeri automatically left the bed and spread her arms to touch the colourful petals, mesmerized by the magical sight. "If only it rained petals."
"Sorry if the question is rude...but where's your dad?" Jungkook asked, getting up from the bed and flying around Hyeri.
"Oh, he's not here. He's always away for his business. He comes home about once or twice every month."
"Don't you miss him?"
"Of course."
Jungkook snapped his fingers, the rain of petals and the petals from the floor disappearing the next second."Why'd you do that?" Hyeri frowned at his action.
"You said you miss your dad with a complete blank expression like it's nothing. You're lucky you even have a dad!" He shouted, his voice ending up in a high pitched note.
Hyeri looked at him blankly, then her expression melted into sadness and sympathy. Before she could say anything, Jungkook turned around and switched off the lights with a snap of his fingers.
"Let's go to sleep." Was all he said before silently disappearing inside the drawer of the bedsits table.
Hyeri stood quietly then shook her head, crawling on her bed and wrapping the warm bed sheets around her.-------------------------------------------------------------
"I'm leaving!"
"Okay! Come back home early!"
Hyeri closed the door and ran towards the sidewalk along the small street. Jungkook then freed himself from her small backpack, but as soon as he got out, Hyeri catched him with her hands and hid him in her jacket pocket, looking around for anyone's presence."Don't even," Hyeri said quietly.
"But why the park?" His voice came out muffled from her pocket.
"Because it's Saturday and we need to go somewhere for fresh air; and it's not any park, this park is a vast green place." Hyeri answered before relaxing her shoulders and walking steadily towards the tall trees waiting for her.
