Meeting the Girlfriend

I feel my heart began to shatter into many pieces.

No. This can't be happening right now.

I slowly make my way towards the living room and sat down on the couch. After a long, painful 5 minutes, there is a knock on the door. Kiku quickly makes his way towards the door and opens it.

"Hello Kiku! I missed you so much!" A high pitched female voice says.

God I haven't seen her yet and the sound of her voice makes me want to shoot myself.

I hear Kiku chuckle, "I missed you too my plum blossom."

I can feel my blood boiling like hot lava when I hear her giggle.

"I love when you call me that, Kiku," she says as they both enter the living room area.

With him, there was a girl. She was short, had long, brown hair with a weird curl sticking out on the side of her head along with a pink flower pined in her hair, brown eyes, and was wearing a pink dress.

She pauses as she makes eye contact with me, with a questioning look on her face.

"Oh, is this the girl that you mentioned that moved here a few months ago?"

"Yes that is her, she is very nice and sweet. I think you will get along with her." Kiku says before heading towards the kitchen to make some tea.

I mentally snort to myself.

Like that is ever going to happen.

The young girl makes her way towards the couch and sits down next to me.

"Hello, my name is Mei Xing! I'm Kiku's girlfriend," Mei introduces.

"Kiku has told me quite a bit about you, what's you name?"

"It's (F/N) (L/N)," I grumble.

She squeals in excitement, which boils my blood even more. "That's such a cute name!"

I mentally roll my eyes at her childish behavior.

"So your from (Y/C), am I right?"

"Yeah, why?" I ask Mei.

"It's just that I heard it is an amazing place to visit. I hope one day me and Kiku will be able to go to (Y/C)."

Mei then began to bombard me with more questions and then eventually talking about her relationship with Kiku. I attempt to ignore her to resist myself from wanting to strangle her, knowing that Kiku is still here.

At the corner of my eye, I see Kiku entering from the kitchen, carrying a tray that is holding 3 cups of tea.

"Sorry that it took so long. How's everything going?" He asks as he sets the cups on the table.

What should I say? I should lie to them and pretend that I care about their relationship. That should make them seem that I am on their good side.

I grin a fake smile, hoping that it's not obvious, "Everything is just fine Kiku, I am very curious on how you met Mei."

Kiku moves and sits across from both of us. I take a sip of my tea.

"Well it was about 2 years ago when I was traveling to Taiwan, when I was visiting the Love River in Kaohsiung, I met Mei and we became good friends. After a few months of our friendship, we began to realize that there was something more to our relationship and one day I asked my beautiful plum blossom to be my girlfriend and she said 'yes'. She then moved to Japan since we started dating. I have never been this happy in my entire life."

My heart shatters even more knowing that he has already found his true love. I felt tears begin prickling in my (E/C) eyes, but I wiped them and flashed a fraud smile.

"I'm glad that you two are happy with each other. You guys make a cute couple," I say, feeling disgusted at the back of my head.

Mei squeals in delight. "Aww...That's so nice for you to say! Do you have a boyfriend?"

I freeze in place. I did have a few boyfriends in the past, but I have been cheated on and rejected which left me heartbroken. Whenever I see a couple pass by, I can't help but feel envy and alone.

"No," I say looking down on my lap, not wanting to talk about my past relationships with my ex's.

Mei frowns and hugs me for comfort. "Oh, don't feel that way. I'm sure that one day you'll find your true love. Only time will tell."

I look up at her sparkling brown eyes. "You think so?"

"I'm sure. You are too beautiful to not have a boyfriend. One day a handsome man will come into your life and sweap you off of your feet onto his arms." She says.

I smile softly at her. "Thank you, Mei," I hug her back before standing up.

"Well, I should be going. It's nice meeting you Mei, and thank you for having me here as always Kiku," I say, walking towards the front door and putting on my shoes.

Kiku and Mei follow behind me as I open the door. "Goodbye (Y/N)-chan, I'll see you soon. Stay safe," Kiku says.

"Bye, (Y/N)! I hope we get to hang out more!" Mei exclaims.

I turn around and face them. "Goodbye Kiku, Mei." I smile and begin to walk. Once I hear the door close, I quickly made my way around the house and found an open window where Kiku and Mei are talking in the living room. I crouch down and listen to their conversation.

"I'm so excited for our anniversary tomorrow!" Mei exclaims and I freeze in place.

I hear Kiku lightly chuckle. "I can't believe it has been 2 years since we've been together."

2 years? They've been together for 2 years?!

And tomorrow is their anniversary? I have to get rid of that girl!

I was pulled out of my thoughts as they got up from the couch. I quickly move to the side and see them outside. They share a short kiss and say their farewell before going on their separate ways.

I have to think of a plan, quick!
