"Familiar faces, familiar faces, look for familiar faces." That's all Nick Carraway had in his mind as he rushed through the crowds of men and women dancing, drinking, chatting. He felt so out of place and he felt awkward just standing and doing nothing so he's been aimlessly walking around with a full glass in his hand pretending he had somewhere to be. As he went up the spiral staircase he did his best to avoid anyone, the amount of people packed in this room was nauseating. As soon as he reached the second floor he had to try and find an empty space, but a hand was placed on his shoulder, Nick turned around to see another man in front of him. His piercing blue optics bore into Nick's sky blue ones, his honey brown hair was nicely gelled back and his facial hair complimented his features well. "Enjoying the party, old sport?" Asked the man, his tone was rich and warm which immediately caused Nick to feel less tense. "Y-Yes... I am." Nick managed to stutter out after a moment of silence and just observing his features. A confident smirk came across Gatsby's plump lips, "What's your name?" "Nick Carraway, and you?" Of course he had to know the name of the enchanting man greeting him. Instead of exchanging his identity, the stranger took a glass of whiskey and sipped it. "This Gatsby fellow, what say you about him?" Nick paused for a moment, oh yeah, the man's house he was at. "I... I don't know really. I've heard he's sexy, a relative to Kaiser Wilhelm but honestly I don't know." Nick laughed nervously, his cheeks flushing. "Why?" He asked rather suspiciously. A noticeable cheer came amongst the crowds of people as they all rushed outside, when Nick turned to see thousands of fireworks illuminating the night a smile crept across his lips. Almost enticed by its beauty he took a few steps closer. It was almost a matter of seconds that made the huge mansion empty, except for Nick and the mysterious stranger. "Because," stated the man in a soft tone, slowly creeping up behind Nick and whispered in a light manner, "I am Gatsby." The moment Nick received those words his eyes widened, it made sense yet it didn't. This man was like a puzzle without a few pieces, yet he didn't care. When he turned to face Gatsby once more their faces were less than inches apart.
