Taehyung's room was small, the walls a basic white color. He was sitting at his desk, earbuds in. His hair looked freshly washed, and his face was plastered with a worried look as he watched tears cascade down her cheeks. The window behind him showed it was just about to be daylight outside. Maggie looked at her clock that was reading 3:45 pm, doing the math in her head to figure out it would be 5:45 am over there.

"Tae, I didn't remember the time difference stuff. I'm sorry. We can talk later if you wanna go to sleep." Maggie said, her tears momentarily stopping.

Tae shook his head as he spoke, his accent really cute, "Never. I want to hear about your day. I don't want you to be upset."

Maggie's tears started all over again, her mind relaying her day over again.

"It's okay, let it out. Just start with the beginning of your day."

Maggie wiped her tears off her cheeks. "Well, this morning, I woke up late, so I couldn't do my makeup, which I don't really care about, yet I do. I felt naked the whole day. I don't even wear makeup for other people! It just felt weird without it.

"Then, in homeroom—"

Tae cocked his head to the side, confused, "What's homeroom?"

Maggie let out a small laugh, "It's this thing where we have to go every morning before we go to first hour. They give report cards and all that junk out during it."

Tae nodded, his hair flopping around.

"But, what I was saying was that I forgot to turn my phone off, so when I got a notification, it beeped and got confiscated.

"Then, in first and second hour, I didn't understand the lesson. In third hour, someone spilt their coffee all over my work and the teacher blamed it on me, so I had to buy the kid more coffee and I have to redo my work to turn in tomorrow."

Tae was shocked, "What kind of teacher is that? They sound like a total ass."

She nodded, "She is. I hate her class."

Tae whispered, "I'm sorry. What else happened?"

"During lunch, I got hit with a locker door. In 4th hour someone got their gum stuck in my hair. In 5th hour I had that stupid midterm that I'm almost positive I did horrible on. 6th hour was the only good hour. In 7th hour I nearly got detention for back talking the teacher because she mistook me for someone else. And I missed the bus, so I had to walk a mile home." She didn't notice but the tears were rolling again, making her eyelashes stick together and blur her vision.

His voice was smooth and calming, "I so badly wish I could hug you, but for right now, the best I can do is offer you help and try to make you feel better."

Maggie nodded and pulled her dark hair back, tying it up in a bun. She rubbed her eyes, "You don't have to, really. I can just go watch dog videos."

Tae crossed his arms. "I will not allow that. We've been talking for, what? 3 months by now?"

"3 months and 15 days."

"My point is, I will not allow you to be upset when I can help." He was cut off as a fluffy mass of white overtook one of his best friends. Her dog, Rose, had come to cheer her up, and it seemed to have worked because Maggie was smiling (and Tae couldn't help but think that a smile looked much better on her than tears did) and petting the giant dog. In her mouth was a water bottle, and when Maggie grabbed it, Rose jumped off of her and ran to meet Mia.

Tae had Maggie back, and in a much happier mood. "I love dogs so much, like what did humans do to deserve dogs? Not enough, that's what."

Tae listened to her talk about how much she loved dogs, a smile set on her face as the words fell from her lips. Her dark, almond eyes were lighting up the more she talked, and her tears were mere memories now. He sat with his hands supporting his head, watching with a small smile as he watched the computer screen.

------------

Soon, Maggie had started on her homework, getting help from Tae for things she didn't understand. He had spent the last 30 minutes trying to explain what her pre-calc teacher taught her.

"But, how? It makes no sense!"

"Just remember SOHCAHTOA, ignore what your teacher taught you. Sin equals opposite over the hypotenuse. Cosine equals adjacent over hypotenuse. Tangent equals opposite over adjacent." Tae said, watching her face for any signs of confusion. Instead, he saw the click of information in the form of a grin and a shout of happiness.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank you so much, Tae." Maggie gushed over the Skype call. "You're always the one who can make me happy again. Thank you."

Tae felt his cheeks turning red. "I'm always gonna be here, Maggie."

"You're the best."

The two talked for hours more, working on her homework late into her afternoon. Then, Maggie stopped responding to Tae's questions. When he looked up from the sentence he was writing to help her practice her Korean, he saw she was asleep. He noticed it was already noon for him, meaning it was 10 pm for her. Not wanting to wake her in fear she wouldn't go back to sleep, he didn't ask anymore questions.

"너 아름답다." He whispered, then ended their Skype call, Maggie still fast asleep on her Basics Of Korean (Hangul) textbook.
