Dani

My whole week went well. Jackson never talked to me again. The issue about Jackson and I last week was already forgotten. Addison and her squad never bothered me again. And the play? Well it was okay, but every time Jackson and I practiced our scene we can feel the awkward atmosphere hugging us. I can even see him tensed. And P? He still kept on sending letters to me.

I heard a small knock from the door and saw Germaine.

"Some ones looking for Ella" she said. And by just mentioning the name Ella, I already knew who is waiting for me downstairs. Jackson.

"Just tell him I'm asleep." I said and covered myself with a blanket.

"Oh come on. Just talk to him. He won't leave until you talk to him." Germaine said. "And please! It's his 5th day here, it's so annoying!"

"Fine." I heaved. I jumped off my bed and faced myself in the mirror to check myself. I went downstairs and saw Jackson talking to Tori. He is wearing a navy blue polo and a khaki shorts, and he wears it so hot.

Oh how did his parents made a Greek God son?

When he saw my presence he immediately stood up and cleared his throat.

"Ella. Hi." He said and I can see him tensed and nervous.

"Hey." I said. Damn! This is nerve-racking and it's really awkward, and I can feel my eyes heating. Remembering how much he said that I am not a lovable because of my appearance. No! I won't show him I'm affected. I won't show him I'm Dani. He knows me as Ella, not Dani.

"What do you want?" I asked coldly. I just couldn't help but talked to him coldly.

"I need your help." He said and I can see through his eyes that he desperately needs my help.

"Okay. Let's talk somewhere private." I said and head to the door. "Please lead the way, Mr. Lee"

He stood up from the couch and started walking out of the house. We are silently walking to the park. I can feel his uneasiness towards me, and I can sense he has something to say to me, he just couldn't say it to me.

"Do you have something to say Jackson?" I asked breaking the silence.

"Well. Are you okay? You seem cold towards me." I thought he will never notice my cold treatment towards him. I guess I was wrong.

"I'm just tired. Got lots of school works to do." I lied.

"Oh." Was all he said, and then the awkwardness came back.

He is silently walking in front, while all I see is his lean back. I can't help but appreciate his beauty. He suddenly stop and that's when I realized we arrived at the park. I sat down at the near bench and he went to an ice cream vendor and went back with two ice cream on his hand.

"Here." He said, handing me an ice cream.

"Thanks." I really need ice cream right now to ease the emptiness I'm feeling right now.

We were busy eating our ice cream. No one dared to speak. I can even see Jackson on my peripheral vision having a hard time, feeling uneasy. It's like he is contemplating his words well, thinking on what to say to avoid himself from making me leave.

I cleared my throat which made him look at me. "So, what are we going to talk about?"

"Well" he started, and I can sense his nervousness. "I want to ask why you ran away last time." He asked. Shit! I knew he is going to ask me about this.

"Uhm, I suddenly remembered that time that I was supposed to run some errands that time. I forgot to say goodbye." I said, trying to sound honest and convincing.

"Oh." was all he said. "Anyway, about Maxine?" he added.

"I don't think I can help you. I'm sorry." I said.

"Why?"

"I told you already. I never met Maxine. And I have no plans on meeting her because I know it's pretty impossible." I stop and think of other excuse. "Please don't force me. If you'll force me, I'll cut ties with you. You won't see me again." Okay. What a threat huh?

He sighed heavily. "You must be stressed out lately. I'm sorry for asking a huge favor. I didn't think thoroughly on what will be your possible reaction."

"I'm sorry. It's just that it's too much. I don't even know the girl."

"It's okay, just don't say such threat again." he held my hand which made looked at him. "You are the only person I can rely on. The only person I can treat as a friend. The only person who never judges me."

"Only friend my ass" I snorted.

"Oh come on! I'm telling the truth." I just raised my brow at him.

"You can't lie to my face Jackson. You have a huge circle of friends at school. You have John, Evan, Matthew, the cheerleading girls, Addison, Jane, and Samantha. You are even friends with some students who are on a lower year level than you." I said and rolled my eyes.

I looked at him again and I can see how he is trying to hide a smile on his face.

"How'd you know about my friends? Are you stalking me Miss Ella?" He grinned. Oh darn! I have gone too far.

"No! I was just asking Germaine and Tori about you. I want to know if I could trust you and befriend you by knowing on what you are in your school." Err – that was close.

"Oh really?" he said looking at me with disbelief.

"Really." I said and avoided eye contact with him. "Okay, so I guess we are done talking. I think we should go. I have a lot of school works to do."

"Okay. If you say so." he said and started walking towards his car. That was close. Next time, I should be more careful on what I say towards Jackson, and I slapped my lips.

"So? How's it going?" Tori asked. I just shrugged and went to my room.

Boy! Why does he like me? He doesn't even know me that well. There's really something wrong here. Why would he like me? Don't tell he loves me since the day he met me at my birthday. That's absurd and impossible. Ugh! I should just stop thinking this non sense. Jackson, why are you confusing me?
